THINGS I REALLY LIKE * The way this is designed, it's really easy to clean. The lids lift off easily for cleaning. The pots have a wonderful surfaces. Steam drops run off the lids into a drain collector that is also easy to clean. The lids seal well around the double pots via gaskets, keeping everything inside. There is a slit down the middle between the lids where steam could escape when using the large pot, but I think the vents in the two lids will probably prevent that. I had no trouble with it when slow cooking in the larger pot, even when it was boiling inside. * The many uses this pot has amazes me! I've already donated two appliances it replaces and am contemplating letting go of my sous vide as well, once I've tried that function in this MultiPot. The only things it doesn't seem to do is pressure cook and air fry! When I tried searing a roast in it the big pot got plenty hot, plus between the high sides and lids, I hardly had any noticeable spatter around it - so different than stove top searing! * I tried cooking 1 c of rice, and it turned out light and fluffy. I did have a little stick to the bottom, but put a half cup of hot water in after I turned it off, let it steam for 5 minutes, and the rice was great. I may add the extra liquid at the beginning next time. And cleaning up was much easier than with our rice cooker. * I also cooked 8 oz of fettuccini in just 2 c of water at the same time in the other smaller pot. It seemed a little starchy when it was finished, so I added a half cup more liquid, let it steam on the residual heat, it was all absorbed, and that solved that issue, too. After adding some Alfredo sauce and canned chicken with the broth, it was perfect. The instructions said to give pasta a stir if it foamed up, which it did through the pot vent hole. Next time, I'll just add a tsp of oil to prevent this. * Lastly, I slow cooked an elk roast that was given to us in the large pot. Even my largest slow cooker could not hold enough potatoes and carrots with a large roast; it will be no problem with this cooker. ANY IMPROVEMENTS? * I am not in love with the green color. I'd rather have a more neutral kitchen color. * I wish it came with a steaming rack, but you can buy either size on Shark Ninja's website, although I did think the larger rack seemed overpriced. * I wish the power cord was 6" longer, and the plug could be hooked to the cord when wrapped around in the back. SUMMARY: Yes, it is expensive. But this appliance does not seem cheaply made to me, and I'm generally OK paying a little more for an appliance with so many functions, with a very functional design that stores so well. I think this will be GREAT for cooking and serving food for family holiday dinners, too.

The Ninja MultiPot XL is one of those appliances that makes you realize just how much kitchen equipment can potentially be replaced by one really versatile cooker. With 12 different cooking functions and a huge 14-quart capacity, this is definitely not a small countertop appliance—but if you cook larger meals or like having plenty of room to work, that extra capacity is a major advantage. The Vista Green color is gorgeous, too. It has a more attractive, modern look than the typical black or stainless-steel appliance, so I don't mind having it sitting out on the counter. It actually looks like something intentionally chosen for the kitchen rather than something that needs to be hidden away in a cabinet. What really makes this MultiPot useful is the range of cooking methods. Being able to slow cook, sear and sauté, make hot pot meals, sous vide, and use it for oven-style cooking gives you a lot of flexibility. I especially like the ability to sear and sauté in the same vessel rather than dirtying another pan before moving on to the next step of a recipe. The 14-quart total capacity is a huge selling point for me. This is the kind of size that makes sense when you're cooking for a family, preparing food for a gathering, making a large batch of soup or stew, or simply meal-prepping. You're not fighting for space when you have a lot of ingredients in the pot. The ceramic cooking surface is another feature I appreciate. It feels like a nice upgrade from some of the more basic nonstick cookware, and cleanup is made considerably easier by the dishwasher-safe components. Anything that reduces the amount of scrubbing after cooking gets bonus points in my kitchen. I also really like the oven-safe capability because it expands what you can do with recipes. Between the different cooking functions and the ability to transition between techniques, this feels much more like a genuinely multipurpose piece of cookware than a single-function appliance with a dozen buttons. There is one thing I'd consider before buying: this thing is BIG. The 14-quart capacity is fantastic when you need it, but it's not something I'd recommend if you're looking for a compact cooker for a small kitchen or cooking primarily for one or two people. You'll want to make sure you have somewhere to store it when it's not being used. For anyone who does have the space, though, this is an impressive kitchen workhorse. The capacity, versatility, ceramic cooking surface, easy cleanup, and sheer number of cooking options make it useful for everything from everyday meals to larger gatherings. Overall, the Ninja MultiPot XL feels like a seriously versatile piece of kitchen equipment rather than another appliance that ends up collecting dust. If you have the counter or storage space and actually plan to use its many functions, the large capacity and cooking flexibility make this a very worthwhile addition to a busy kitchen.

Update after a week's use: The full pan cook, with the split lid opening concerned us quite a bit that we would lose moisture and flavor. I am relieved and quite pleased to report that no measurable moisture escapes - we added no water or other liquids during a 3-hour stew at a slightly higher temp. It appears to us that the lid design causes a convection effect, and very little moisture escapes even with the gap between lids. We also tried one of the functions in the documentation - cooking pasta with just enough liquid to bring it to al dente - i.e., not boiling / draining. This did not work exceptionally well. It turned out al dente, it did not burn, but anything on the bottom stuck solidly to the pan. We won't do that again. (End of Update) We have 3 slow cookers for various purposes, and Nana has vowed that they'll never be used again after two uses of this Ninja MultiPot XL. Her summary input: It works better than any of the devices it will replace. A 9-hour slow cook of a pork roast sold her on it immediately. No water was added and nothing burnt or stuck to sides/bottom. It did not dry out. The lid and pot fit and seal so well that apart from whatever escapes through the steamhole, no moisture is lost. The temp control as tested with a probe a couple of times during the cook showed 185 degrees on both checks. This will literally fulfill all the promises made by the crockpot, chiefly that of perfect unattended low-and-slow cooks. The other cook was to boil spaetzle to go with the pork roast. Boiling water isn't a particularly difficult task, but to do it in a half-pan right next to a slow-cook half-pan, that is impressive. I think with a little forethought and adaptation, this could effectively eliminate stove/oven use, and throughout the summer that is extremely desirable. Everything about this device feels solid, substantial, and precisely engineered and manufactured. The documentation shows 13 different functions, many of which we probably won't use, but who knows? The shallow frying looks like it might get messy, and it's tough enough cleaning up a shallow pan/stovetop. But it might be useful to use the sous vide function, and we might be able to retire a 4th separate device, our trusty rice cooker. If there is anything about this that might be worth docking a half star, it would be the price - $250 at time of review. While it does invoke somewhat of a gulp when pulling out the wallet, I've found the old adage proves true: price is forgotten long after quality remains. We have a breville toaster oven that is 16 years old and running strong and a 20-year-old zojirushi ricemaker with which Nana has an 'out of my cold dead hands' relationship. We hope this one joins the club.

3.5/4 stars. In short: Nothing wrong. It works. Takes time and intention to learn all that it can do. Design could be better, but it is otherwise a perfectly fine kitchen tool. More detail and observations: The side by side pans are NOT to be used on top of the single open pan. It is directly in the instruction book. So if you want one big pan, just use that. If you want 2 smaller pans, then take out the larger one, then just use the two smaller ones. The lid fits fine over both (as in, lid fits fine over the large pan, or the lid fits fine over the 2 smaller pans). It is a split lid, may seem odd at first but makes sense given the side by side option. The side by side option allows not only to be able to cook two different things at same setting, but two different things at entirely different settings, including BAKE. There are a lot of settings, and it is important to really take a good look at the included booklet to learn the machine. I still have a lot of learning to go and I have used it a few times now. That being said, this little multi-cooker could use some help. It is fairly intuitive to get it going, but it is cumbersome (so far) to change things up without entire starting over. Again, learning curve. There are 12 functions, and I think one of which SHOULD be labeled "simmer". But it does not. Doesnt show one in the product description, but it did say in the booklet that my model should have one. Maybe old info? So I have had to play around with it longer than I want to get a simmer. I havent perfected it yet, but I did use "hot pot" for awhile. Slow cooker function worked for that too. The 2 smaller pans will store in the bigger pan for storage purpose but the lid doesnt close down, so it is sort of sloppy looking. Definitely not something I want to look at. I dont care to leave this big behemoth sitting out, but if I did, I wouldnt want to look at a unit with the lid partly up. Nor do I want to store the pans outside the unit. It's weird. Could be better. I say this because part of me wants to use this all the time, so that means I would want it to sit out for easy and quick use. It really does a lot! But then I would have to store some of it away since it doesnt look right to have it all tucked together and not have that lid go flush. Just looks messy. Conundrum! When storing, I stick a cloth in between the pans as I am not sure if too much friction could cause scratching or not when nested. I like knowing that the pots are oven safe up to 500°F and freezer safe up to -13°F. The latter gives an option for meal prepping. The cord on this unit is short, but reasonable. It is for safety as per most appliances. If using as a hot pot, then dont plan on bringing it to the table unless have some way to plug it in at short distance. I think it is wonderful as a hot pot, albeit a tad big. The lids can be popped off. The feel plenty sturdy to me. They can even go in dishwasher if need be! I have not had any issue with the lids, no issues with spillage or condensation building up on counter. Just no issues at all. I havent made much of a mess with this thing as far as interior goes. No spillage so far. If I did, I would have no issue with doing a quick rinse. I wait until the pans are cool before removing. I have been able to lift them out and drain no problem. I had broth that I had no intention of keeping for left overs, so much went to waste. I was able to pick up the large container pan no problem. Your experience may vary. Easier than a crock of a crock pot in my opinion. The first time I use this was to make a Pho broth. I used the large pan to do this the first time, but afterward I decided the next time I would make it I would use one side for making the broth, and the other side for the add-ins. I liked being able to easily "toast" the aromatics (dry spices, inc star anise etc), then added in some fresh ginger and garlic to saute (changing settings as I go) then moved on to adding in broth, then "simmered" for a few hours. I do think all the options are neat. Some I normally dont ever see together in a multicooker. 12 COOKING FUNCTIONS: Slow Cook, Sear/Sauté, Bake, Steam, Sous Vide, Rice, Pasta, Mixed Rice, Stir Fry, Hotpot, Shallow Fry, and Keep Warm LASTLY, my way of eating and my husbands way of eating are very different these days. I use some similar ingredients sometimes, or I make 2 entirely different meals. This is what got me interested in this multi cooker is being able to have 2 pans going in one unit. I thought maybe it would stream line my efforts a bit. So far yes. Like I am not in LOVE with it, but again.. I am still learning about it and how best to use it. My experience so far has been good. So I am going with 4 stars. Perhaps I will update if I learn anything more worth sharing. I will definitely be back if there is anything super negative. Price? well, I dont rate on price. I know this pricing is within range of electric multi cookers. This has added benefit of being able to do a couple different cooking styles at once. PS. Just because it made me laugh. DOOT DEE DEE! If you have Ninja Crispi, this makes same exact sound when turning it on.

I am highly disappointed in this expensive cooker. The physical construction feels surprisingly cheap and flimsy for this price tier, from the lightweight plastic trim to the loose-fitting lids that completely lack proper locking latches. The most severe physical flaw of this machine is the gaping, unsealed cavern right in the center when using the dual side-by-side pots. Leaving a wide-open hole directly over the permanently attached, non-removable heating elements is a major design failure. When trying to use the interactive hot pot feature, it is physically impossible to prevent wet ingredients, condensation, or sauces from dripping straight down into this central gap. Because you cannot submerge the electrical base in the sink, getting that clean so it does not get under the disc and into electrical coils will be very difficult. To prevent this risk altogether, I am forced to lift the heavy containers completely out of the unit just to fill them or scoop food out, which defeats the convenience of a one-pot countertop cooker. Furthermore, the oversized steam vent holes on the lids create an exceptionally high evaporation rate. In my experience, the constant loss of steam requires regular monitoring to ensure the meal does not dry out or scorch on the bottom, making it impractical for long-term unattended cooking. For my needs in a standard kitchen, the minimal advantages of this appliance do not compensate for its significant structural shortcomings.

I just got the Ninja MultiPot XL, so this is definitely a first-impression review. I have not cooked in it yet, and I am not going to pretend I have tested twelve different functions when I haven't. What I can say is that my first impression is excellent. First, the Vista Green is gorgeous. If an appliance is going to take up valuable counter space, I appreciate it when it actually looks good sitting there. The color adds personality without being too much, and I absolutely love it. More importantly, the entire unit feels substantial and well-constructed. Nothing about it gives me that lightweight, flimsy feeling that sometimes comes with appliances trying to do too many things. The controls and components feel thoughtfully designed, and I am genuinely excited about the number of cooking options available in one appliance. The 12-in-1 versatility was a huge part of the appeal for me. I love the idea of reaching for one appliance for a variety of meals instead of pulling out multiple pots, pans, and small appliances. Obviously, the real test will come once I start cooking with it, so I cannot comment yet on cooking performance or how easy everything is to clean after actual use. For now, though, Ninja has absolutely nailed my first impression. Beautiful color, impressive construction, tons of functionality, and one of those rare kitchen appliances that I was genuinely excited to unpack. So far, I love everything about it.

This is definitely a substantial countertop appliance, but it packs a lot of functionality into one machine. I really like the option of using the two separate cooking zones to make two different foods at the same time, or swapping to the larger MegaZone when I’m cooking one bigger meal. There are a ton of cooking options, including slow cook, sear/sauté, steam, bake, stir fry and rice, so it can replace several appliances I would otherwise have to store separately. The ability to sear meat and then continue cooking it in the same pot is especially convenient and means fewer dishes to wash. I also have to mention how nice this appliance looks. The dark gray-blue finish with gold accents is beautiful and feels much more upscale than your typical countertop appliance. Since this is fairly large and may end up living on the counter, I appreciate that some thought went into the design. It does take up a fair amount of counter or cabinet space, so that’s something to consider. But for the versatility and large capacity, I think the size makes sense. I’m looking forward to experimenting with all the different functions, especially for easy weeknight dinners and larger family meals.

~Multi functioning Cooker~ While the cord is not a long cord I have discovered an extension cord gives it more mobility in the kitchen and on my counters or table. What I really love is that you can cook two meals at the same time. My son has allergies so I have to cook separate from us, this is perfect for it. Not only does it have twelve different cooking types it also lets you keep foods warm that you made. Excellent for entertaining as the food is always warm or hot for your guests to be able to eat at any times. Since you can either cook two different things at different types like saute in one or slow cooking in the other side, you can use this many ways thus eliminating the need of many pots and pans. From stew to rice or even wings come out great from this. Larger than I thought it is just great for us. Ninja has a great hit with this multicooker as well made great quality that's price is very reasonable for all the modes you get with it.
