I decided to buy one of the Ninja Blast Blender when our families four BlendJet Blenders were recalled. We waited over two months for the replacements and they still hadn't arrived, so I decided to purchase a Ninja and request a refund from BlendJet. The Ninja is such a superior blender. Absolutely love this and will be purchasing additional ones. The power of the Ninja blends solids like frozen fruit and ice incredibly well. I've used my Ninja daily for morning protein shakes and they come out super smooth. No chunks of ice leftover like the competitors always had. The shape is much better on the Ninja. It has is round with a slight squareness to it that makes holding it much more comfortable. The container also has ridges all the way around it that the BlendJet does not have. BlendJet is smooth and round plastic and if it gets any condensation on the outside it can get slippery. The Ninja container also has fill lines on the outside of the container for minimum liquid, ounces, and maximum fill. BlendJet also has ounces called out on their container buy it is etched in the plastic container in the same clear color. It is so much easier to read the Ninja container because the ounces and other increments are black to contrast against the clear container. It is very easy to know how much liquid needs to be in there to make sure you get a great result. The lid on the Ninja is also much better than the competitors. The flip top to drink out of is very secure when closed and won't leak if it tips over. BlendJets lid needs to be removed to drink your smoothie or shake. There is also a sturdy handle on top of the lid that flips up and down if you choose to use it to carry the blender with you. The competitor uses a strap. The handle is much more convenient to me. The blade is great on the Ninja. I use about six ice cubes in my morning protein shake and it has yet to stop blending because it freezes up from the chunks of ice. Our BlendJets constantly stopped blending with ice in them and would need to be shook up to dislodge the ice and then turn it back on again. Not a problem with Ninja. The buttons for power and start/stop are simple to operate. You simply push the power button the turn it on and then the start/stop button to blend. There is a light indicator the spins around the start/stop letting you know the status of the blender (if it is charged, needs to be charged, etc). Included directions have all of the different light colors on the indicator called so you know exactly what the color means. Battery life has been very good. Blender has been used daily for over two weeks and still hasn't needed to be recharged. When it arrived it did need to be charged to full capacity and it took about an hour and a half. Not sure yet how long it will take to fully recharged when the indicator lets me know to plug it in. Recharging time isn't a big deal to me so it's not of much concern. The base on the Ninja is great. Super easy to grip without worrying that it might lip out of your hand. It also has an excellent shape with the slightly squared centers of each side (same as the fill container has). There is a nonslip rubber seal on the bottom so it won't slide across the counter while it is operating. Cleaning the Ninja is very easy. I believe the fill container and lid are dishwasher safe, but I hand wash it and let it air dry. Always seemed to have small fruit pieces remain behind (especially blueberries and chocolate) in the base of the BlendJet, while the Ninja hasn't had that problem. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Ninja blender. Being able to compare it side by side to its competition made it very easy to see firsthand that the Ninja is a superior product in a very similar price range. I bought this model/brand after being in the campsite with a cousin who had this one. I have blended ice, frozen fruits, and nuts in it. Everything has come out fine, and I have explicitly follow the directions for how to load it. (E.g. 6 ounces of liquid first, then fresh fruits, then Leafy greens, etc., etc.) I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the motor is. This past weekend I was staying in a hotel and had to show up at 5 AM somewhere, so me blending my breakfast smoothie – I did not feel like I was in danger of waking anyone up. The only thing I didn’t realize when I was playing with it at home and not traveling, that you can only blend it right before drinking it. There is no easy way to remove the top to take it with you, and you are not supposed to put the motor into the refrigerator. That being said, I have had many blenders – this is by far the easiest for cleaning. It fits my bottle brush easily, and the fact that it can go into the dishwasher is wonderful! ... show more

I was skeptical about how well this blender would perform but I took a chance and purchased anyway. I was very impressed how well it worked. I didn’t note how long it took to charge the blender because charging always takes time no matter the device in my experience. My measuring stick is an old Vitamix blender that I have learned how to use to make the perfect Açaí bowls at home with frozen fruit, Greek yogurt, and almond milk. I followed the Ninja’s instructions for filling and blending and I got a nice thick smooth, refreshing smoothie. My only caution is be careful with it because you can turn the blender on if the top and or vessel are removed. Even though it is not likely I’d accidentally turn the blender on when the blade is exposed, I’m training myself never to grasp the blender where the function buttons are located. I’d recommend this brand if you are look for a cordless blender. ... show more

    • THE BEST PORTABLE BLENDER EVER!

Run don't walk to buy this portable blender. I held off writing a review because I wanted to use it a number of times. Straight out of the box, hands down, this is the BEST portable blender that I have ever purchased. Easly rivals regular kitchen plug in blenders. The best part YOU CAN USE REGULAR SIZE ICE CUBES IN THIS BLENDER! I have purchased 3 or 4 "rechargeable blenders and a mini plug-in blender. NONE of them were able to crush regular size cubes. I had to go out and buy a mini-ice cube tray to keep at work, as this is where I make all of my daytime shakes. The ninja blender... fill it up a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the way with water - add protein powder - add 6-7 Regular ice cubes turn it on ..... BLENDS perfectly - sometimes I have to pick it up and give it a little shake - to move it along but no problem. The shake blends to the perfect consistency. This blender is really well made, heavy duty and the cup is quality. I have not tested it, but I make approx. 3 shakes a day and do not have to charge it. After the last one I plug it in for about an hour, not because I need to, but I want to make sure there is enough charge for the next day. This cup also fits in your car cup holder. One thing I hate, I make a shake and then a few sips in, it separates, not if you have this blender - you can take a few sips .. let it sit, quick punch on the power and its mixed again. The portable blenders I have bought in the past all of a sudden stop holding a charge or just stop blending .. not this one. I highly recommend this blender. ... show more
