The Ninja BN701 blender is great! It has terrific blending power and crushes ice easily. I use it mostly for making smoothies about every other day. This unit is very easy to use and clean as well. Normally I can think of something I'd like to change or add on something to improve the item. Not so with this blender. It is near perfect! The buttons are clear on the front for the different options and the blender is reasonably light to move around as well. It feels sturdy and I trust that it will last for several years. I consider it to be a great buy. The only slight negative is that it is a bit noisy when blending. Of course that is for such a short amount of time, that I don't really consider that to be a deal breaker at all. This is still a wonderful blender for the money. ... show more

The blade is dangerous to handle, it’s four razors built into one propeller shaft. It does the job proficiently, frozen fruit is daiquirized instantly, it creates a lot of air in smoothies so it looks like twice the amount intended but it’s mostly air. I imagine that extra air would be good for a smoothie business profit margin. It sounds powerful but some parts are not dishwasher safe, so I forget which, so I have to hand wash everything. ... show more

The 3 levels of blades are what sets this apart from other blenders. No need to stop and stir like my old, cheap one. I love that it has a locking lid for added security around little ones.
