I bought this blender due to it being rated quiet. It is definitely quieter than most blenders. It needs an extra bit to get everything smooth but overall it works great for our purposes!

This blender IS quiet. Read at least one review to the contrary. But I'm telling you this is quiet and does a great job with blending. It does blend intermittently, as opposed to constant. So don't think there's something wrong with the blender. Instructions say nothing about this, but I saw a youtube video with the blender and it was the same way. Gives things a chance to settle a bit before continuiing to blend probably. The only thing I don't like is the instruction manual! ... show more

    • Very quiet, but contains plastic in pitcher
Do you make butter coffee at the crack of dawn every morning? Are you looking for something quiet? Check. This blender is great for keeping morning noise down. Are you looking for a COMPLETELY glass pitcher to avoid leaching plastic chemicals into your hot coffee? This ain't it. The mechanism the blade is embedded in is plastic and there's maybe a three-inch diameter short cylindrical section of it that sticks up into the glass blender. The plastic appears to be plastic #5, polypropylene (it says >PP<), which is supposed to be one of the better plastics for hot food, but apparently that's because there's less research on its effects than most of the others. I DON'T USUALLY WRITE REVIEWS, BUT WHEN SOMETHING MAKES MY JAW DROP, AND LEAVES ME SPEECHLESS, A REVIEW IS WORTHY. FIRST OFF, THIS BLENDER IS ABSOLUTELY MORE QUIET THAN I WAS EXPECTING IT TO BE. I PUSHED ALL THE BLENDING SETTINGS, AND THE QUIET SOUND WAS CONSISTENT. MY SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS WERE WELL INCORPORATED, AND TASTY. I LITERALLY KEPT WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO GO WRONG WITH THIS BLENDER, BUT I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. MY SECOND BEST BLENDER, THUS FAR! ... show more

    • Worked like a charm, at first
I purchased this in part because I hate the loud noise of so many blenders and didn’t want to break the bank. First use or two, it was great. Solid glass jar, quieter than most. However, next time I used it, it started to vibrate and was quite loud. Now, at any setting but the lowest, it is ear shattering. If I hold the carafe firmly down, I can deaden the sound somewhat. On top of that, additions, such as garlic for a sauce, don’t even get chopped up. I had to strain them out and cut them up. On the hunt for another blender, that blends with a reasonable level of noise. Update March 2024 - Well, I reached out to the company and they agreed to replace the blender. They concluded that there was a defect in the motor. I really wanted this to be better. However I quickly learned that this new one was just as loud as the other one. I understand that blenders can be loud but that was the selling point for this one. Anyway, other than that, I attempted to blend a sauce the other day that had chopped up garlic and cilantro. It spun these around for quite a while and never so much as chopped them up. Give this one a pass. ... show more

I suspect there’s a lot at play in the top 100 rankings of blenders on Amazon. Ninja, Vitamix, those all market themselves well and have influencers shill the heck out of them. But this one collects dust on the shelves when in reality it’s likely the answer to everyone’s needs. Oh, and it doesn’t smell like burning plastic like another $20 top-5 blender on the market. As far as noise goes, it is the ONLY — I repeat, ONLY — blender to date that we’ve had over 1.5 decades that doesn’t raise the ears of our cats (or make us shutter in pain when on level 2.) Obviously the more solid, frozen items you include in your drink, the louder the noise will be; however, with sufficient liquid and a handful of frozen strawberries, this thing more than capably blended on level one. Not as strong as I would have liked I have to stop it and stir a few times when it's on 3/4 of the way full. It gets the job done. I use it to make purees for my 9 month old
