I’ve been very happy with this 1200W blender. It has plenty of power to crush ice, frozen fruit, and blend smoothies into a creamy texture in just seconds. The different speed settings are easy to use, and the preset programs make blending even more convenient. There is an old saying, "I Hate You Sometimes, But I Love You Always" One has to be married a few years to fully understand that statement. My wife makes smoothies for her breakfast on a daily basis. I previously purchased this same exact blender for her back in 2020. For some unknown reason, she feels this need to assist the blender, by attempting to stir the contents a little while the blender is running. As is not uncommon, she ignored my cautions. In doing so, she accidentally dropped a stainless steel spoon in the blender while it was running. After the explosive sound of incoming shrapnel subsided, we were left with a spoon and a blender that were totally destroyed. She liked this now deceased blender, better than any that she had used. Thus I set out to order her a replacement. Unfortunately, this model had been discontinued. I ordered it 3 times from Amazon and others, only to have them cancel the order because it was no longer unavailable. Fast forward a year later to November 2025, somehow, Amazon had them again. I immediately ordered one. My wife almost did a happy dance when it showed up. This blender just does a fabulous job. The blade configuration is exceptional. It also auto reverses will running. This back-and-forth feature, pulls the contents down in to the blades for better mixing. It also makes it unnecessary to stir it with a spoon while running. (smiling) The jar portion is heavy glass, making it more durable and easier to clean. It has a powerful motor and numerous settings for various applications. This machine is a winner. It does not disappoint. Also, being an Oster brand, one can easily find parts for it.

I, as many here, did a lot of research. There isn't much out there on this blender. What I ended up doing was comparing the parts of each blender from the viatmix to Ninja to blendtec etc. that made them work better than others. The Ninja (I bought one [not from amazon] but realized as I opened the package it had been hastily washed, repackaged and returned. Obviously the first purchaser was not fond of it. I chose to return it promptly because 1. it had these blades that looked cheap and so much molded plastic everywhere. 2. the spindles were too loose. Which made me think it wouldn't last long and if the lids didn't lock they'd come flying out at me. 3. 90% of all the parts are cheap plastic; research shows ALL plastics are estrogenic not just BPA. I have a 3-year-old daughter who loves smoothies, I am not even going to attempt using a machine like it. 4. The jars crack frequently, and the blades need replaced way to soon. $$$. The Ninja belongs in a class of it's own... Infomercial hype and should never be used to compare a blender's ability to do its job. I digress... After comparing many reviews and weeding through the hype and learning how the commercial blenders work I decided to search for something that shared those qualities, all Metal Drive, Reverse action, lots of power for home use and a glass or stainless steel blending pitcher to reduce exposure to estrogenic plastics and reduce the cost of replacement parts. on Ebay I learned that the old trusty Vitamix's of the 90s had stainless steel pitchers and an average wattage of 850. If 850 watts was all a commercial business needed then that's all I need at home. I won't be making 100 smoothies a day like the Vitamix would be expected to do. The Oster 1200 pro is an average of 900 which is more than the older Viatmix 3600s. Logic would say this blender is all I would need. So far I have made 4 smoothies and some frozen banana strawberry ice cream. I've read complaints of people not being able to use it without added liquid... why would you not add liquid to your smoothie? It is important to lubricate the blades and not push any machine with too many frozen solids or tough stems. I used the commercial Vitamix blenders for 5 years at Starbucks. Even those machines had to have a thawing period for frozen fruit, had to have a liquid in them along with the ice and other ingredients to make smoothies and Frappacinos. They are indeed workhorses, but i don't need a workhorse like that at home. This blender is enough for me. It performs like a Vitamix. It creates a vortex, is programmed, has a glass pitcher, doesn't runaway on the counter (no serious vibration) yes it's loud (get a sound a dampener like smoothie shops have if thats a problem for you) Someone mentioned rust on their blades... don't rinse it and let it sit. I run soap and water through the blender then take it all apart and rinse each piece then air dry. I had to do the same for the vitamix's. Both the pitcher and the to-go cup work great on the blender. The only Con i have experienced is the lid on the to-go cup. It slides forward when you take a drink, a minor annoyance. Maybe add a locking mechanism on the lid? I have no serious complaints about this blender. If I encounter anything I will update my review. All in all this is a great machine.

This was a replacement for a Ninja that worked well but has a plastic pitcher. I could see scratches from ice dings. Ugh. So we replaced the Ninja with this glass pitcher blender. We’ve used the blender about 8-10 times. Set on smoothies, it does the job. Finished product is perfect and you can add ice which disappears as it should. The blender loses a star because of leaking. Read the instructions so you place the gasket as it should be. And be careful as the blades are super sharp as expected. I use a silicone spatula to push the gasket in place and to remove it. Even then it could leak. My trick now is, after I have everything aligned, I put the pitcher on the base and try to turn it a bit to make sure it’s tight. But I still don’t turn my back on it while it’s blending. It’s not as loud as the Ninja but we do cover our ears as it’s over 80 decibels. We reviewed a LOT of blenders if this type. We think we got the best one for making smoothies and the price was reasonable.

AMAZING. The blender is very powerful, handling even harder foods with ease. The reverse function allows the the "stuck" foods to be dislodged without me sticking any utensils in there (yay safety), and prevent the vacuum pockets. Non-toxicity is huge for me, so really appreciate the glass container and no plastic parts that come into contact with food. It is hefty but not too heavy, making it easy to put into storage and take out when needed. The main panel with all the buttons is simple as well, which I really like. Only things you need, not overly complicated buttons I'd never use. The plastic personal cup is useless for me (because -> plastic) so that went straight to donation bin, but its overall construction is solid if you don't mind it. And finally, it looks great aesthetically speaking. I prefer stainless steel for my kitchen, and it ... ahem... blends right in!!! Highly recommend.

I upgraded my workhorse 700 W Oster blender to this 1200 W workhorse. It has a nice sizable glass picture for blending which I prefer over the plastic ones. The glass is shatterproof. I've absolutely fallen in love with this blender and use it frequently to make smoothies for breakfast. It's got multiple functions, but I'm perfectly happy with the medium speed blend that turns ice cubes and 4 cups of ingredients into wonderfully smooth smoothie mix. Pitcher pours nicely into glasses without spilling. Review update: I pulled a bone head maneuver and was reaching for a cup while I was blending my smoothie together. Tablespoon sized kitchen spoon was sitting on top of the blender across the spout, and it dropped into the blender and was contacted by the spinning bullet steel blades. It made a loud noise and shot the spoon out of the blender and smoothie mix all over. I was thinking that I was done for with the blender but the glass picture survived without breaking. I was thinking with the steel spoon being whipped around by the blades that it was going to shatter potentially the pitcher, but it didn't. The thing is built like a brick. Very, very happy with this purchase.

I made this purchase of the Oster Pro because it’s made from glass and I trust the Oster brand. At first I thought - what the heck did I do? This is weird. This ends up being the best blender I have ever had. Instead of going on and on and on and making a lot of loud noise —it works really fast making frozen fruit smoothies. It’s really powerful and I’m very pleased. I just made hummus and it’s perfect. If you don’t want to spend the big bucks on a VitaMix, this works well.
