So far ...so good ... These lights seem to be of good quality. They were easy to install. The zip ties came with the package are too small. However, with that said not a deal breaker. The lights are bright and the remote has many options. Also, I like you can control the lights with your cell phone. The lights seem to be a good value for the money.

The media could not be loaded. Strip lights are amazing. I installed these LED lights on my ezygo golf cart in around 20 minutes. The adhesive tape sticks great to the undercarriage, just make sure to clean the area first with rubbing alcohol. Lights hook up easy to the app to control functionality.

As far as LED kits go, this is what I would consider a generic Chinese bargain bin kit. The kit claims it can run on a range of input voltages between 12 and 66v. I took apart the controller casing apart to see what they’re using to do so and can confirm they do have a mini DC-to-DC step down converter heat shrinked next to the controller so connecting directly to a 36v or 48v shouldn’t instantly fry the kit. The actual controller functionality itself leaves quite a bit to be desired. You can control the strips using the included remote or by downloading the HappyLighting app. The remote is of limited use unless you specifically want to quickly set all the lights to white, red, blue, or green; or if you happened to like one of the dozen or so preset animations it can cycle through. Other functionality with the remote includes the ability to adjust animation speed, and LED brightness; but whether you like any of the preset animations the remote offers will be highly subjective. The HappyLighting app feels like an app developed by someone taking an intro to coding course. The first screen you’re presented with (Adjust) is fine. It allows you to save your own single-color presets, select a square in the preset row and then use the color picker above to save your color. It’s pretty basic stuff. Music/Mic I’m not using because I’m not giving some random Chinese app permissions to my mic. The kit does have a mic in the controller to allow the LEDs to react to music, but in testing this looks pretty bad. I had no interest in either of these features, so they don’t reflect on my score at all. The style screen is where we reach maximum jank. When it’s not connected to the lights, you’ll see actual descriptions of styles such as “Rainbow pulsating” and “Red/Blue pulsating.” But connect to the actual LED kit and these English names go away and you’re left with non-descript Mode 021, Mode 211, etc. This same app works with some other vendor kits, so this suggests to me either Nilight didn’t provide the names of the modes to the developers of the app or the developers aren’t in any rush to implement anything; neither of which are a good sign for Nilights. If you’ve ever used apps from Govee, Tuya, Lifx, etc you’ll immediately feel like this app must have been released 10 years ago. There’s no option to customize each segment, you take or leave whatever random options were provided to you. The value for this kit just isn’t there in my opinion. The adhesive on the back of the strips is useless and failed to hold the strips even when prepping surfaces with rubbing alcohol and installing in 76f weather. The actual clips included will break under almost no pressure if you are screwing in with a powered driver. The screws are also not self-tapping. The 6 piece kit I’m reviewing retails for $80 and doesn’t provide any benefit over a kit from other more reputable manufacturers controlled by an app with more functionality/polish. I’ll likely build my own controller using WLED to avoid most the shortcomings I find with the app. Other minor peeves I have are the box has typos on the packaging (My kids will forever refer to our cart as a goif cart now) and the product pictures rely entirely on photoshop instead of actual real world product photos. These don’t affect the functionality of the product but are a pretty good indicator on the quality of product you’re getting. The strips they use appear to be WS2811 which have an IC for every group of 3 LEDs. In layman’s terms, this means the LEDs are controlled in groups of three. So with that being said, the product closeups of the strip showing a smooth purple to red transition where each LED is a different color simply isn’t possible with the strips included. In practice you’ll likely not notice it when most animations are running, so one could argue I’m just being pedantic.

Everything I thought it would be. So many times Ive been dissatisfied with electronics from China. But this really works well and will be fun times with my golf cart. Installation was about 2 hours once I planned where to put the lights and wire it. I would say go for it!
