  • Nice Rake
I've had to let my back yard go crazy this year. I haven't been able to stay on top of it due to health issues. So now, there are a few patches of dead weeds that look really awful. I'm just grateful they're dead! I saw this rake with its large tines and knew it would be perfect for the job. Especially since some of the dead stuff is on an elevated mound back there. This rake arrived pretty quickly. The set up is simply screwing the pole pieces together - nothing to it. When I got all the sections in place, I was impressed with the rake. With all the pole sections in place, it's a tall rake - just what I need to reach the top of that mound. This is a heavy duty rake that should hold up well. My only problem is the screw together pole. I've used many items with that type of pole and invariably they loosen as you use them. It can be so frustrating. So, I certainly hope this pole doesn't do that. Besides that, it really is a nice well made rake. I haven't been able to put it into action yet, but I think it will be very effective. I do love the long slender tines! I'm very pleased with this rake and recommend it. ... show more

  • I know it sounds crazy but it just might work..
Ordered with a healthy dose of skepticism, having broken a couple of rake handles in my lifetime. This rake came in a pretty small box, barely larger than the head, with a handle that thread-locks together to a surprisingly sturdy 60". Inspection of the tube steel handle shows a thick sidewall and nice powder coating, and the rake head looks ready to do some serious work. The tines are long and open, with sharp tips that I worry might tear up as much as they clean up. I think for jobs like raking out ivey, prepping an area for planting, or light aeration this will work very well. ... show more

  • Remarkably Sturdy for Tubular Handle
I was pleasantly surprised by this rake. I wasn't sure the handle would be stiff enough for some of the uses that cause a flex in it but there is no issue there. I also never had a garden rake of this style with the narrower blades instead of the pointed prongs on the head. This works great for removing thatch from small areas of lawn and worked very well for raking debris out of my gravel driveway shoulders. The only hitch was that the end of the handle (see pic) has a molded in hole for hanging on a nail or whatever and that design does dig into the palm of the hand on the top of the handle. Just be sure to wear gloves when using it (which is always a good idea anyway). ... show more

  • Solid Rake
This gets shipped in pieces. There are four lengths and the rake head. They all assembled in less than 5 minutes. The rake handle once assembled is very sturdy. You definitely will need to be sure it is tight each time you use it so as to not damage the handle. The rage head is metal and seems to easily pull through my lawn. The grass was pretty thick and it did a nice job of thatching (which was our main reason for ordering). The head is oversized than my old rake which means it should easily rake up branches, small brush, and cut grass. It will make light work when I prep my garden for winter. Again, my only concern is if the pole is not tight, you can bend the handle so that it won’t work as well. Outside of that the rake seems like a winner. ... show more

  • Sturdy and solid.
Nice rake. There is not even a hint of bend or give at the joints. This is going to be a great tool while dethatching my lawn. The only thing that could make it better would be a bit of foam on the handle to protect my hands from callouses.

  • Not a regular rake. This is a grabber.
Two things about this are odd. The handle is metal and screws together from a bunch of parts. They fit tightly, but the joints create lumps every foot or so. The second thing is that the tips are quite sharp, so this is very 'grabby' in the grass. It is great for pulling out clumps of moss and clearing a surface, but it's not going to easily pull through the grass and leave much behind. It is a pretty normal price I would expect for a normal rake, but this is definitely not one of those nub-nose rakes. If total removal of greenery is your goal, this is great. Don't expect it to work in the grass. ... show more

  • Sturdy Rake
This rake will work well for removing dead grass from the lawn or breaking up dirt clods in the garden. Assembly is fast and easy by tightening the handle sections together, and can be disassembled to store in a small space.

  • Solid construction
This is very solid rake- all metal. I broke my previous plastic one trying to level gravel in my driveway. This one is a champ. Not too heavy. segmented handle does not slip or unscrew if you first assemble it with a strong twist or put some Loctite on it. The tines on are long so it won't clog easily with leaves, roots or dirt. Breaks up hard packed soil quite well. Thís may become my favorite heavy rake ... show more
