I usually shoot birds with my 600mm but this time of year the bird population dwindles so I look for other subjects. I shoot portraits and have been waiting for this lens since they announced it! Is 1.2 necessary? No. Absolutely not. But oh is it so nice to have. Video quality is so good and picture is sharp edge to edge even at 1.2!! Large and heavy but a small sacrifice for picture quality.

This lens is super sharp. The amount of details you get while it’s wide open, is just amazing. Paring this with the Z system, I can short in low light and no issue. There is some vignette, which is expected being open 1.2. Overall, I really recommend this lens for every day use and portraits.
