  • Amazing Prime Lens
I shoot live music events, exclusively, drummers. The 85mm allows the depth of field needed and the sharpness of the subject. I leave it on the Nikon D780 and also use for everything else I shoot. Best addition to the 24-70mm and the 70-200mm without the weight.

  • Like new!
This is a great lens and I saved nearly $400 compared to a new one. There’s not a scratch on it and it came with the box and all included stuff you get with a new one. The only gripe I have is that the lens hood was broken and repaired with glue. However, it does snap on tightly. It’s $35 for a new one… All in all, a great deal. I’m enjoying it a lot. ... show more

  • Poorly packaged and broken internally.
Upon opening the box I noticed how little packaging there was. As I unwrapped it I knew it was wrong as the internals were hitting against each other. Just to verify, I put on my D610 and sure enough, the aperture will not change amd will not auto focus. May have worked before it shipped in a single layer of bubble wrap. Not now. ... show more

  • Great but not perfect
While I'm impressed with the outside body of this piece I am a bit bummed that this little white thing is in the glass. It actually looks like a piece of fabric. Maybe a small string? I don't see it in my back of camera images but I do on my computer screen. It's not unusable but still....I'm debating on sending it back ... show more

  • I thought that this was a refurbished product?
I thought I was buying a completely refurbished product and while I know there could be a scratch or too on the product, I didn’t expect a scratched up lens cap. I mean it is so worn out that the silver NIKON logo is wiped out and almost black. That’s not refurbished in my mind. Now I’ll have to order a new cap. ... show more

  • didn't work
was super stoked to utilize this lens due to all the hype, but this lens came broken. the aperture was unable to be adjusted on my camera, almost as if the camera/ lens couldn't connect properly. the metal on the inner part of the lens was also beaten up. otherwise the appearance of the lens was awesome, but i can't use and will have to return. i was debating whether to go the renewed, used, or new lens route & i would highly suggest just getting a brand new lens after this mishap. spending this much on a lens, a few hundred $ more for it to work & be perfect is totally worth it. ... show more
