This digital monocular's IR nightvision function is quite good for the price. The product did come with some instructions that were ok I guess on general mode changes and how to use the IR mode. The IR nightvision itself does work, though I feel the IR light level after 2 seemed more gradual the the jump from 1 to 2. There was an options menu as well to change some stuff like image/video size, time and date, etc (there were no instructions on what buttons cycle through what in the menu but they weren't to hard to figure out from trial and error). The device requires 5 aa batteries to be able to run. Not sure what the battery life of the device is but I assume the IR feature of it will eat up more of the battery power then normal video/picture use. Things to note though are that the screen on this device is small (and the field of view on it gives a more zoomed in look for the base view level), this device doesn't have auto focus so you will have to use the manual focus on the device to focus in on stuff at times.

This night vision device does work. In daylight and low daylight its focus is very bad. Everything is fuzzy. I found the rear image to be too small. I have tried both using the instruction and building a truth table to configure the NV camera. I failed to be able to update the date. I am not sure about other features although I tried them too. The instruction are like most from China. They fail to give an adequate and clear description or in giving instruction that does the job. This NV camera does fairly decent NV although the vision field is very small. The feature listed in the instruction of seven levels of NV imaging failed to work. I was able to determine two. Honestly even for $40.00, I find this NV camera to be a failure and disappointment. Because it does give night vision I have rated it a 2 star.

i haven't had a lot of time to decide completely but for sure not unhappy from what i can tell all good it is pretty cool the 128 g sd card of Amazon for 9.99.works great well worth it and it does come with recharge AA battery pack plug it in and enjoy the ir is strong it really is can be seen if are direct infront of it i just wish it had audio but so far i think any one will like it all of the menu is easy to use and works im glad i got it
