Perfect for what I needed. I had an older gen Night owl system and it was in desperate need of an upgrade. I doubled the cameras and features with this. Two way audio through any camera, the security feature I think is pretty cool (it loudly says “Smile you’re on camera” while flashing a light), and I got 8 cameras for a decent price. My only two issues were the cables were not long enough and they do detect motion every so often. Although the motion detector goes off often it also tells you if it’s because of a human, car, or if it’s just any motion which I think is cool. You can see when important things happen and I’d rather catch something than not. I had to order extensions but not really a big deal. I love the cameras.

I like it cameras are better then my old ones only thing I don’t like is sometimes when you open the app it will take a minute or so to connect to cameras this picture is my back yard old cameras you couldn’t see anything at night but now it’s like daylight

The set up was easy and came with plenty of cable for my install. The clarity of the cameras are great My only complaint is that the camera pick up bugs and trigger alerts all the time. Had to fine tune and make a lot of adjustments. The reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because of the false alarms.

Purchased to replace an older Night Owl system whose cameras were starting to fail. I was a bit skeptical of the cameras, but they’re wonderful. Good clarity for the money and great night vision. The app works great and allows me to “check in” wherever I go. The strobe lights, sound, and speakers are simply a bonus when and if activated. All in all, a great system for the money. By the way, this system is my third (2 locations) Night Owl system. All have been faithful and true.

I had a previous night owl product security camera / DVD 760p since 2016. I rated that product 4/5 because the zoom-up function was not that clear. However, I could review in one 30-minute sitting, all 6-8 security cameras to get a full view of what's going on around my home, especially if I notice something was wrong. October 2025, I decided to upgrade to the Night owl newer model 2k/4k system. Pro: picture quality and night vision excellent. Con: new DVD, the playback only allows customers to review 2 cameras footage at one time. by reviewing 2 footages at a time, and not all 8 cameras at once (like my old unit) it would literally take me 120 mins or more to review a 30-minute sitting. This is ridiculous and a total waste of my time, especially if I would keep the new unit for 6-8 years. I inquired of this from the Night Owl support (company), and the tech, as well as the supervisor, told me that there was nothing they could do to help me, because that was how the engineers designed the new 2k/4k Night Owl DVD system to work. I told them, whoever the engineers were that designed it, they were not thinking about the customer's satisfaction and convenience of using the newer DVD unit. As a result, I bought 2 new Night owl system, and now I have no choice but to return them back to Amazon and get a refund. I will have to buy another brand that will be more customized to my needs and convenience. Moreover, Night Owl needs to tell their customers this, because of the inconvenience and excess time wasted in using this new system when reviewing the recorded footage, I would not recommend it to anyone, unless this feature is added. As a customer, I want to be the one choosing to review one, two, or all the pre-recorded footage at the same time for that sitting. I don't need to sit down for a single 30-minute review, and it takes me 2 hours or more to review a 30-minute playback or 4-5 days if I wanted to review a particular day's event. Also, by fast tracking through footage you can miss something important. Totally ridiculous, inconvenient, and long-term investment waste of money unless one doesn't mine spending hours looking through pre-recorded footage. I really rated night owl as one of the best out there from my old purchase in 2016, now with this reduce function and playback inconvenience in their newer 2K/4K models, I have to give them a 2/5 stars.
