We needed a solution that would allow us to make the most of the only bonus room we have in the house. Traditional beds just take up way too much space. As I searched for Murphy beds, I came across this one. It stood out from all the rest because when the bed is out, the person sleeping in the bed does not have their head in a cave. Additionally it looks great and has room inside for pillows. The finish is perfect. I got the darkest one and you can still see some wood grain If you look closely-it is all wood construction and high-quality. I also would be in remiss if I did not discuss the white glove delivery. It is an extra option that you pay for (cost depends on the companies your area). Because I am no longer in my 20’s I thought I would splurge and pay the extra and boy was it worth it! The two gentlemen who delivered the bed brought it upstairs, completely unwrapped it and showed me how to operate it. They were super friendly and very courteous and took away the shipping boxes and wrapping. I would use them again in a heartbeat. First off, let me say that this bed comes PRE-ASSEMBLED. Normally these beds are around $1300-$1400 without assembly, so in my opinion, the extra bit of money is well worth it to not spend an hour or more putting it together. With kids running around, that's just not feasible in my house. Now, on to the good stuff. I know this is supposed to be a guest bed, but because we live in a super small place, we are using this as an actual everyday bed. With that being said, the quality is obviously pretty good because of all the use it is getting. "Unfolding" it and turning it into a bed is super easy. Takes only about 2-3 minutes. Putting it back takes about the same amount of time. The mattress is exactly as described - cooling gel memory foam. No night sweats and super comfortable. It is a firm mattress, but still comfortable nonetheless. I myself like a firm mattress but my wife likes a super soft mattress, and even she is pleased with this mattress. Also, I would like to point out that I am 6'7 and this mattress is long enough, even for me. Now let's talk about the seller. Nick (the gentleman that took care of us) was phenomenal. From the moment of purchase until the delivery, he was with us every step of the way. Even when the freight company (located in Georgia) was dragging their feet and rescheduled us THREE TIMES, he got on their butts to get us this bed. And, even though he didn't have to, he refunded us money for the inconvenience of having to wait extra time. I definitely recommend this seller AND this product. You won't be disappointed. UPDATE JANUARY 11, 2022: We are STILL using this bed daily and it is holding up beautifully, even after we put on some quarantine weight. Still highly recommend this bed! ... show more

I love the concept of this bed. I use it as a guest bed so I can use the room for other things and not have a bed in the room taking up space. It is pretty easy to fold out and put away the mattress when not in use. My only complaint is that the top of the case seems to be poor quality. The top cover fades and shows shadows where I had something sitting on it. Also, the bed is low to get in and out so it can be difficult for an older person. When the mattress is folded out, there are sides from about the shoulders to the top of the head and this could make someone feel a little claustrophobic. The bed/mattress is comfortable. I ordered this item for a spare bedroom to save space so I could use it for other purposes, as well. Placed my order, and within 3 days I received a call from a very kind CSR to schedule delivery. Now that’s service! She accommodated my choice of dates, and today Shawn arrived with Saia to deliver the bed. He was very careful while unloading, and was kind enough to place it on my flat dolly to wheel it in the house (I would highly recommend this if you don’t have a second set of hands). Once inside, I realize it was packaged quite well; no damage whatsoever. Absolutely worth the surcharge to order this assembled; I was able to pull out the mattress and bed with ease. The unit came fully assembled and wrapped in a carton box on a heavy duty pallet. Unwrapping the unit revealed a sturdy and very nice looking piece of furniture. We opted for the Dark Chocolate finish and were not disappointed. Very pleased with the quality of the finish. Even though the units are essentially 3 pieces (Top, Mattress, and base), it will take 2 people to get the pieces inside and upstairs to it's destination. First one came damaged, badly, so I refused the delivery. They were super nice about getting me a new one! But, I can’t leave work once a week to wait for a pristine one, so I finally accepted this one. These are the damages on the one I accepted, and they were the tiniest ones thus far. This was a remarkable buy. First, we ordered directly from SDS and it comes fully assembled. The appearance is just like the photograph and it looks appropriate sitting right among the other furniture that I have in this tone. The mattress was a concern but it meets the expectation. I added a gel topper and a plush mattress cover just to add comfort and height. I nearly fell aspleep on it after setting it up for the first use. If there is any drawback it is that you may stub your toe on the bottom at the foot. Otherwise, I really don't have any complaints about this bed. ... show more
