For context, I'm not reviewing this in comparison to higher end, $200-300 ultra-light tents. I'm comparing this to $40-50 tents. This is not 5-stars compared to high end tents which should be obvious. Now, with that said, this is a very good budget tent for someone figuring out if they like backpacking before investing serious coin. I bought this via a combo deal w/ the Nightcat 70L pack for about $70 at the time making this roughly $35, and let me tell you, it's an AWESOME $35 tent. It's not the lightest tent in the world, but carries fine and it was just big enough to fit my 5 year old and me (6'3" @ ~210-215 lbs) pretty comfortably. And when solo, I have room inside my tent for my gear rather than having to leave it out under a vestibule. It's just as easy to set up as other tents of this type, so if you've set one up before, this is a breeze. So, if you are figuring out if backpacking is right for you and want budget options, get this tent, it's great at that $40-50 price point. Then, when you drop serious coin for high end tents, you'll have a great option on hand for helping a friend get into backpacking. ... show more

It's only good for one...very small human. Put my 10-year old in it and he was fine. He'll probably outgrow it in a few years so keep that in mind. I wouldn't use it for a fully formed adult, but that's me. I can attest to the water resistance - it does keep the rain out. I found it simple to put up but the poles seem to be tricky. It was not ez to get the poles through the tent sleeves because they kept coming apart .

Bought this tent to use for moto-camping and needed something that packs up small enough to fit into pannier bags. This thing packs up super small and sets up into a nice spacious one person tent. I was able to fit a back pack and plenty of other belongings if needed on the side of me at least a little over a foot of room after fitting a larger one person Trekology air mattress inside. The tent poles definitely don't have a lot of give and I can see why people have snapped them. Just don't force them to bend and work the tent material around them the first few times while setting up the tent. The material seems to stretch out a little which helps make the set up easier. The stakes that are included are basically worthless if you're not camping in fresh grass, they will bend way too easily. I ended up having to run and snag some Coghlan's aluminum tent stakes which made a HUGE difference. The tent itself is very well made and roomy for one, holds heat quite well. Didn't have a chance to test it out in the rain to see how it holds, but all the seams look to be sealed quite well from the inside of the tent. Purchased this for a one night Tahoe backpacking / camping trip in September. Was easy enough to assemble and is quite light. However, the tent poles don't seem very durable and one of the tips already bent during assembly, making me pretty uncertain if it will last very long. Otherwise it's fine and no frills. **EDIT** Seller reached out to me for replacement - very pleased and will give the replacement a try and see if there are any issues. Thanks! ... show more

Yes, you read it right. This little thing that my friends kept telling me to replace has gone thru 3 sessions of high winds, heavy rain, and thunderstorms all in one year. (While their tents flooded) I did have to cover the vent with a junky tablecloth I bought at a goodwill to do it, but the small footprint on this thing makes it easy to keep down just by laying in it. No pools of water when I wake up. Didn't expect I'd leave this great of a review when I got it. ... show more

The poles both individually have frayed parts of bungee cords that keep poles intact am not sure how long will stay intact but I hope I can get new poles without returning quality tent body already received and well looked over for deformities. All I see are frayed bungee cords on both poles, I hope I could get them replaced for tent sent to address before fully unusable ... show more
