I had a mini mixer but it was only good for mixing powders into liquid. I needed something that would chop up strawberries and blueberries etc into a smoothie. I did my research checked reviews and found that this mixer was highly rated. I used my mix of this morning and added those ingredients mentioned above and it blended so well. I added some yogurt and some milk strawberries blueberries bananas and a protein mix. It came out so smooth. One of the things I noticed that is different is that the blades on this mixer or serrated so it really does chop up anything put into it. I love that it's portable and lets you know the battery level which is shown on a display above the power button. Another great feature is that it takes two presses to start it and when the plastic cup is removed it will not work. This is a great safety feature. I chose the teal color and it's a very pretty color and the one thing I didn't realize is that it comes with a top that will screw onto the plastic bottle and you can add a straw into it or close it. I have been using this blender for a few weeks now, and I am really happy with it. I have made smoothies with a variety of ingredients, including ice, frozen fruit, yogurt, and protein powder. The blender has been able to blend everything smoothly, and the drinks have been delicious. I also like that the blender is easy to clean. I simply add a drop of dish soap and some water to the cup, then blend it on high for a few seconds. The blender is then clean and ready to use again. I got this for my girl to blend her drinks in the morning. She was normally using the plug in blender that would make a lot of noise in the morning. This things quit and powerful. Depending how much fruit you put in it you may have to shake it as you blend for a sec or 2. Now she can take it in the car blend and put her cap on to drink it.
