This notepad/calculator combo is such a handy idea I am surprised I have never seen it before. Yes, we all have calculators on our phones, but I personally find mine a little clunky and annoying to use for that for any extended period of time. Plus, this is pretty lightweight and does not take up a lot of room on the desk. I am using it for budgeting and I love being able to jot things down as I am going. It saves me from wasting paper! I also recently took a statistics class and this would have been incredibly handy. I wish I would have found it sooner. Another perk is it comes packaged surprisingly nicely for a humble calculator. The presentation of the packaging and the nice design of the calculator itself makes it an ideal gift for a student, or for someone you know that is an enthusiastic budgeter such as myself. *The stylus was a little tricky to get out the first time and initially I thought it was stuck. After I popped it out with the tip of a nail file, it was never that hard to get out again. It does lock in firmly, but not to the point that it seems it will be stuck for good.

The good: This is a basic scientific calculator which can be useful to those who have need of such a device. The functions and features are standard without surprises. I like that I can fold the cover to close the calculator. Some calculators have a cover that can be removed, which leaves them vulnerable to being mislaid. The bad: The note-taking function does not match the images in their ads. In the ads, the green traces of writing are bright as compared to the darker background. In reality, the contrast is much less, and the green traces are not nearly as clear. Since the only reason I bought this calculator was for the ability to take notes, this is a serious flaw and may result in my returning it. One star off for the deficiency in the hardware. Another star off for lying to me. Shame on you.
