Wow...when they say these are professional Japanese knives and are sharp...believe them! Boy, are they sharp and are they fantastic to use! They are very comfortable to hold and the tips come with a blade protector. The 3 sizes or shapes they come in are just the ones that you will want and use the most in your cutting. The handles are comfortable to use and the little hole is fun to twirl and show that you are a professional (well, be careful with that...). This triple knife set covers nearly everything I need for cooking. The different knife sizes make it easy to switch between prep work and heavier chopping tasks. I especially like the cleaver, which feels solid and powerful without being overly cumbersome. All three knives come with an insanely sharp ambidextrous edge bevel and seem to hold their edges quite well over multiple usages. The wood handles give the knives a premium appearance and comfortable feel, though they do require a little extra care compared to synthetic handles. Overall, the quality exceeded my expectations.

This knife has a rough forged look with the lower fourth of the metal sharpened to an edge. There is a hole on the back edge of the knife, which helps to cut the overall weight of the knife. The balance point is near the front edge of the handle, which is where you want it. The tang looks to run all the way to the back of the handle, where they cut a notch for attaching a strap or for hanging. There are three steel rivets used to attach what looks like beechwood handles. The wood on my knife were very different from each other, one had an even tone while the other showed different and darker grains, it felt sloppy and cheap to at least match the wood a little better. The knife also arrived covered with a lot of cutting oil, probably from the manufacturing process. It came in a cheap looking box, but at least it was well protected. This knife is probably not what most chefs are going to use as the blade edge curves so much that the amount of cutting edge is very small. The ad claims "Professional Japanese Knife" which is obviously incorrect since the box states "Made In China". The price is low, but IMO it matches the low quality of the material and workmanship. If you're looking for a starter chef knife, I would suggest a different brand as this would probably disappoint. I'm not sure who would use this knife, it feels more like a novelty than a real chef's knife.

This multipurpose chef knife has a full tang and all wood handle. The grip is very comfortable and feels secure in my hand when chopping or slicing. The blade is very sharp but not quite "razorsharp" as others I have purchased. The hardened steel blade is stable and does not flex as it slices through food with ease. The handle has a notch for hanging so it does not need to be kept in a drawer. The knife point / tip comes protected by a small plastic cover. The current price is in line with quality and competitor's pricing.

I got this knife and I really like it. The blade is very sharp and makes cutting meat and vegetables quick and easy. The handle feels comfortable in my hand and gives a good grip while cooking. I also like the holder because it keeps the knife protected and easy to store. I have been using it almost every day in my kitchen and it works great.
