  • Great deal for a good midrange PC during ddr5 price insanity
Color: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X+ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi
Made a basic mini PC for my maker space with a 5060ti 16 that was on sale for a fair-ish price. This kit worked perfectly for my needs. The review with a bad CPU seems likely user error, if you never built a PC watch some YouTube ltt videos or something. The CPU is very delicate and the pins getting the slightest bend will ruin the connection and could damage the CPU, board or both. That goes for any CPU and motherboard that use a socket. Anyone can do it, but it's easy to do wrong if you don't know what you're doing. A bad CPU from a new package is not impossible but exceedingly unlikely. I've built countless computers in the last 30+ years and have never seen a bad CPU outside of people over clocking too far who don't know what they're doing. you can have new old stock of a motherboard that needs a firmware update for a CPU that came out after the motherboard was shipped from the factory, but that shouldn't be an issue with this kit. The CPU won't work because the motherboard doesn't know what to do with It. I'm fairly sure these came out at the same time, my bios didn't need to be updated to recognize this CPU. The price value of the kit allowed me to build an am5 / ddr5 computer I wouldn't have been able to justify due to ddr5 and gpu price insanity right now. The installation of the parts went flawlessly, I used a 360 aio for cooling it. The aio handles cooling the CPU very well. I've had no issues with this build. Without this combo deal and a sale on the 5060ti I wouldn't have felt it was a good value, but the deals made it make since. Looking forward to the ai bubble popping and a ton of enterprise grade hardware hitting eBay and PC parts coming back into the affordable range. For now everyone should look for these kinds of deals and watch for sales. My deal on the 5060ti took a month to come, I think Amazon was selling them for cheap way before they got them trading some possible profits to get rid of market uncertainty. If they waited until they arrived and the market crashed or people just stopped buying gpus because they can't afford ram they may have been sitting on mid range gpus no one was buying. Patience waiting for a gpu is no fun but it paid off and saved me like $150 on a budget build. Everything was compatible with no problems. Performance meets and exceeds my needs for this PC and it can still do some gaming fairly well. I used a small form factor case for the first time and was a little trepidatious about that but it went smoothly with no problems. I now have a compact little midrange box that can travel if needed. It's more future proof than my maxed out am4 rigs which are still great running 5900xts, but are at the end of upgrades being the am4 socket. ... show more

  • Very Bad Experience
Color: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X+ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi
I had an extremely frustrating and stressful experience with this combo. After spending hours assembling my new PC, I could not get Windows to install successfully no matter what I tried. I tested different USB drives, recreated installation media multiple times, updated the BIOS, cleared CMOS, and spent countless hours troubleshooting every possible cause. After days of frustration and stress, it turned out that the processor was defective/corrupted and was causing the installation failures. The system would constantly throw errors during Windows setup, making it impossible to complete the installation. This was especially disappointing because all of my parts were brand new, and I never expected the CPU to be the source of the problem. The amount of time wasted diagnosing the issue was exhausting and incredibly stressful. If you're considering this combo, be aware that my experience was very poor due to a faulty processor that prevented any version of Windows from being installed. ... show more
