  • A Motivational Success Story However
Format: Kindle
I confess that this kindlebook that is Pay Your Student Loans Fast by Val Breit appealed to me for practical reasons. Even with this admission, I’m aware of how blessed I am in both my personal and professional life and I was hoping to come away with some ideas to incorporate into my own money/career/financial life. The positives: She makes a persuasive case on why a person wants to avoid relying on eventual student loan forgiveness regardless of their political beliefs, the author candidly shares part of her own career journey before she triumphed and achieved successfully repaying her student loans including the bold career move she had to make in order to do so, her openness and honesty on how both herself and her partner were affected by student loans. The fact that the author was candid/open with with her career moves helped remind me that I must strike a delicate balance between being both more courageous/bold and wise when it comes to my own career and money goals. The caveats: I wish the author continued success, prosperity and positive recognition in her personal life, career and money goals yet information is scarce on what her monthly andor annual after tax income was on a consistent basis andor at least average if her paychecks as a school counselor were only during the school year. I felt that such an inclusion of information could have been important for a seasonal or year round employee to keep in mind who is subject to having a fluctuation of hours that they are allowed to work at their current jobs (i.e. being allowed to work a certain number of hours one week andor overtime and maybe being required to work certain amount of shorter hours for subsequent weeks for business/necessity reasons). I believe that the author meant well and with good intentions when sharing how much she worked moneywise towards her own student loan success story, it is just that information has yet to be available in the kindlebook for readers who would love to work more hours at their current job though are required to avoid doing so for mandatory reasons. Aside from that caveat, the author’s hard won student loan success story is probably going to be inspirational to many people and the price was ok for the author’s encouraging story. I understand if the author wanted to be discreet about her own weekly andor monthly after tax income for certain reasons. However, I just hope that if the author writes a revised edition of her kindlebook in the future that maybe she includes the weekly, monthly, andor yearly income of other people who might be ok with sharing how much money they brought in, andor how many hours they worked each week, whether they were year round or seasonal employees, when it comes to the successful achievement of their money andor career objectives. ... show more
