I’ve been using the NewDoar UIAA & CE Certified Hand Ascender for my climbing and arborist setups, and it’s easily one of the best budget-friendly rope clamps I’ve handled. Whether you’re using it for tree work, ascending lines, or rescue training, this thing feels sturdy, smooth, and safe.,now onto the Build Quality The construction is solid aluminum alloy, and the machining looks clean — no burrs or sharp edges. The teeth on the cam bite into rope firmly without fraying or slipping. I’ve tested it on 8mm to 13mm ropes, and it grabs perfectly every time, even when the rope is a bit damp or dirty. The ergonomic handle has a nice rubber coating that gives plenty of grip, even with gloves on or sweaty hands,As for the Performance The cam action is smooth and secure — locks in confidently when weighted but releases easily with a quick thumb press. I’ve used it both in vertical ascents and during tree work with a flipline, and it never once slipped.
