5/5 Monitor! MOUNTING: If you plan on mounting this camera to the wall - all required hardware is included in the box (a pre-marked tape measurer, a level (built into the wall mount base), & a cable track (photo attached), screws & wall anchor. The instructions on how to mount (height, position to the crib, etc.) are very clear and doesn't require any power tools. CAMERA SETUP: The software side of things is simple. Just follow the instructions in the box and you'll be connected in no time. Start with a bluetooth connection to communicate with the camera. Once connected via bluetooth, then it'll ask you for your wifi name/password so it can connect. Following that, you'll likely need to do a firmware update which takes a little bit of time. Overall, a very simple/easy process. FEATURES/NOTES: NO SUBSCRIPTION: First and foremost, one of the biggest perks of the this monitor is that there is no subscription required to make use of all of the functions it has to offer. This can't be said for just about any device (baby monitor or not) out there today. Being able to buy something & not have to continue paying to use it is a HUGE plus. CAMERA QUALITY (See screenshots): As the description of the product says and as is pretty standard with other monitors, this camera offers 1080p resolution + night vision. As far as how it looks on the app goes/the quality - I'll let the screenshots I've posted do the talking. Personally, I think the quality is perfect given what it's being used for (you don't need 4k resolution on a baby monitor, imo). FEATURES: - Live Breathing/Vital Tracking: Although we haven't made use of this, for the parents that want a camera/monitor with all of the bells & whistle of other premium brands (and no additional hardware/wearable tech that the baby has to wear in order for this function to work, as other brands require). I did post a couple of screenshots with this feature enabled for those curious. With this feature turned on, the Miku Pro can detect with the baby is not in the crib, it can detect/alert when there's no movement (at times when it expects there to be movement) & when there is movement. -Music/Sound Machine Function: There's a HUGE list of songs (and sounds) that can be turned on (with a timer). Volume control is also available in the app. -Alarms: If you have vital tracking on, this function makes use of the built in speakers to sound an alarm if any vital signs aren't quite right. -Standby Mode (Screenshot attached): If you're not using the camera (and don't want to completely unplug it) - this function turns the camera 'off' and disables all monitoring/notifications. AUDIO MONITOR (TOP FEATURE, IMO): Similar to a basic audio monitor, the app gives you the options for something called "background monitoring". This feature will send you push notifications to your phone if it detects audio in the room (i.e. if the baby is crying). You can also opt to have the audio continue playing on your phone even if the app is closed (similar to if you play on a song on your music app of choice and then browse other apps or set your phone to the side). The reason I like this feature so much is that you don't have to worry about having the app open 24/7 to be able to use it like an old-fashion audio only monitor. TWO-WAY AUDIO: This camera also allows you to talk to your baby via the app. There's a 'speak' button in the app that will play whatever you say through the built-in camera speakers to the baby. MISC NOTES: - CONNECTIVITY: Really like that you can access this camera via the internet/don't have to be connected to the same network/wifi to be able to access it. I travel for work & work odd hours, so being able to check in on our little one while I'm away is lovely. -SETTING CUSTOMIZATION (Screenshot Attached): For the sound, movement, sleep tracking, etc.. You can custom tailor the sensitivity of how often/when these are triggered and send you notifications. -ACCOUNT SHARE: This feature will let you 'invite' someone (your spouse, a family member, etc.) to be able to have access to the camera/monitor. The thing I liked most about this is that whoever has the account that setup the camera can control how much access the person it's being shared with has. So if it's your spouse, you can give them full access. Whereas if it's a grandparent or family friend - you can set it so that they can have 'view only' access (i.e. they can't use the microphone or see motion tracking info, etc...) FINAL VERDICT: Overall, we are VERY pleased with this camera and all that it has to offer (esp since no subscription is required!!!!). Highly Recommended! ... show more

    • The app needs some work - especially with volume
For a $400 purchase the app needs some serious work Sound Volume: my biggest complaint. We use this on apple devices, and the sound for this app is SO muted. To hear anything the device settings have to be turned up all the way. Want to open another app while this is open, I can barely hear Instagram stories if this is open too. But usually this app crashes closed when opening other apps, causing the sound to blow me away because it’s all the way up when I get to that other app. Why does the sound not work in the app at normal volumes. We literally run two monitors in our babes room, this and a sound only with two parent units. My hub used one parent unit until he comes to bed, once I. Bed I turn the parent unit by me on to listen. The if we hear something we open the app (it’s undoubtedly closed itself by now) and watch for eyeballs. False readings: don’t put anything that has movement in the designated crib space under the bed… i rearranged a Dohm (fan based) sound machine one day that lived under the crib, and suddenly the miku had breathing rates for an empty crib and was sending me false (loud - where did this sound come from) alerts about lack of movement. I moved the Dohm out from under the crib and the issues stopped. Lack of video clips, I thought this would continually record and I could capture lots of sweet moments. Nope it catches a few short (maybe 15 seconds) clips of us putting her in or out of her crib, but I’d say less than 50% of these, and nothing more. If you want precious moments captured to save, this is NOT the camera for that. If you want still photos you can capture those any time you’re in the app, but it’s not a video. Part of me wants to find a security camera that will record constantly for me to have sweet baby moments, I’m sure it would be cheaper than this cost us. Finally - it takes a while for the app to connect or reconnect to the device. Frustrating when I hear noise on my sound monitor and I would walk to the nursery too dark to see - faster than I can bring up a camera that sees better in the dark. The only thing we like about this is that it sees better in the dark than we do, so we look for eyeballs to see if she’s just being the noisiest sleeping baby or if she’s actually awake… but I’m sure monitors that cost far less than $400 have night vision. All that to say, probably would have liked a security camera better than this volume lacking, video moment capture lacking, can’t use a Dohm sound machine under the bed device that lets us watch for eyeballs. Babe is only 9 weeks, and doesn’t take naps in her crib yet, so I can’t speak to the sleep advice/tracking features yet. ... show more
