  • A Must-Have for Peace of Mind — Especially for NICU Babies
Style: Mint
The Owlet Dream Sock has been an absolute lifesaver for our family. My son was a NICU baby and came home still on oxygen, so having a reliable way to monitor his oxygen levels and pulse rate was incredibly important to us. This device let us keep track of everything, including his sleeping schedule, which gave me and my husband so much peace of mind. As a working mom, I especially loved that I could check his data from work — it really helped me feel connected and reassured throughout the day. The sock itself is comfortable for my baby to wear and never seemed to bother him. The app is also very user-friendly and easy to navigate, even during those stressful early days. I can’t recommend this enough to any parent, especially if you have extra health concerns. Truly worth every penny for the peace of mind it brings! ... show more

  • Would buy again!
Style: Mint
The sock gives peace of mind. I also like the option to check on baby when I am at work. The “sleep window” is also accurate! Which is pretty cool that they can predict the time the baby needs a nap. I also liked the oxygen monitor feature when the little one was sick. You rotate to the other foot each night but around three months we threw the socks in the washer (without the monitor piece attached) and they looked new again. We take it with us on trips. It can monitor the baby with or without WiFi. I wish body temperature was also included. But heart rate and oxygen are good for now. It’s probably not with the $300 price tag but I am grateful that we have it. Add it to your registry so you can get a discount. ... show more

  • Peace of mind, preferred over Nannit
Style: Mint
I am a high anxiety mom. This gives me some peace of mind! I still check on my baby regularly (okay a lot), but this allows me to get some sleep knowing that he is being monitored! We bought this and the Nannit to try. I like the owlet better than Nannit because the sock can be used throughout the house whereas with the Nannit baby needs to be under the camera for it to work. You do not need to have the owlet camera for the sock to work, though I do recommend it! I also like that this tells baby’s heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and quality of sleep (light, deep, awake). The Nannit only counts baby’s breaths per min. It’s fairly easy to use and get set up! Sometimes it disconnects from our WiFi, but not often and that is probably more an issue with our WiFi. I would love for it to have a back up mode though if wifi goes out! The sock is soft and easy to put on. Multiple sizes come with it, look on the inside of the sock for sizing and left/right foot. I will say though that when we initially tried it our baby was 5.5 pounds, and it did not fit well. It alerted us that it was having trouble getting readings. After our baby put on a little weight it worked great! ... show more

  • It works, but only for a year
tl;dr The device provides peace of mind when it works, but seems to be built to only last a year as we've had two of them that stopped working between 11-12 months which is also the limit on their warranty. We just can't afford to buy a $300 device for every kid so we won't be buying another one. PROS: - Helpful data that gives peace of mind that your baby is okay - Vitals can give you early signs that your baby is getting sick or recovering from sickness CONS: - Only last 11-12 months (we've had this happen with two socks) - Strict warranty, if you contact them about an issue after 12 months of purchasing they will not help you - App has some bugs and navigating the app can be confusing We purchased the original Smart Sock from Owlet for our first child. The sock and the app worked great, providing helpful vitals data that gave us peace of mind. When the company got into hot water with the FDA over their original Smart Sock, our sock which had worked perfectly for almost a year suddenly stopped working. It would no longer connect to the Owlet Care app. When we contacted support they said that our sock was outside the 12 month warranty (Though it stopped working before that. Buyer beware, if you have any issues at all with this sock before 12 months, contact the company immediately or they will not work with you). We hoped that this was a fluke with their original device and the trouble they got into with the FDA over portraying it as a medical device. So with our second child we decided to try it again and bought their new Dream Sock. The device itself worked just as well as the first one. They also had a new app that was more confusing and less helpful, but overall the system still provided peace of mind. When our second child was around 11 months the system started having trouble. It would constantly give us Yellow warnings but when we would check on our baby everything was fine. We tried adjusting the sock placement, resetting it with the base station, cleaning it, everything. Eventually the sock stopped sending information to the base station at all. The app would show that it was connected to the sock, but no vital information would come through. When we finally decided it was time to contact Owlet about this, we were just over the 12 month warranty window and they refused to fix or replace the device. Overall, while we love the functionality and peace of mind it gives us, it's too expensive of a device to only last a year. If you're planning to have multiple kids, expect that you'll have to buy a new one for each child. I see other reviews mention a similar experience so I know we're not alone. ... show more

  • Love!!
Style: Rose
I got this used off of Amazon and it works perfectly. I can finally sleep now. Only thing is I’m the mornings the alarm goes off where he wiggles too much and it says lost connection. That doesn’t make sense considering it’s STILL on his foot and in place. That’s my only issue. But I waited 3 months to get this because everyone says it makes anxiety worse but don’t listen to them. This thing allows me to check his oxygen levels and heart rate before I close my eyes at night. I love this thing so much and wish I got it sooner when I was sleep deprived. ... show more
