There was some struggle with having to take the lap belt out of the hooks every time but understandable. my 7 year was not able to do it his self and did need help with buckling and unbuckling. We just purchased and tested out in our car without actually driving yet (will update if our review changes). Very clever design, seems to hold our daughter in place well (she’s right at the minimum of 40 pounds and 44 inches - I would not attempt to put a smaller kid in - follow those minimums!). I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of a very obvious “miss” by their product team. Your primary selling point is convenience for travel, you’re charging a very premium price point, definitely a high margin item… but you don’t include a fitted, tough (I’d probably recommend nylon), zippered (don’t cheap out on the zipper either!) pouch to keep it in and really drive home the convenience/portability factor? As is, we’re left with this thing that comes unfolded easily and a long strap floating around in whatever bag we stuff it in. Rookie mistake. Nobody that’s paying $75 is going to balk at $79 if you have to raise price to protect your margin and I guarantee it would increase your customer experience ratings. I saw the designer give a presentation for this seat at a Child Passenger Safety Conference and decided to give it a try. I bought one as a test seat for our 2 children who still need seatbelt adjustment. Our intention was to buy another if it worked for both kids as we have a smaller back seat and the space saving design was a huge bonus for us and their older brother who has been cramped by several booster seat trials. We have 2 very different sized children: a wirey boy, age 10, 4'4", 65 lbs; and a tough as bricks girl, age 6, 3'4”, 70 lbs What we determined: This is a great seat for my small framed 10 year old. He loves that he is not in a little kid booster seat and I love that he is being protected. He also loves that he has more padding in the seat than his previous booster seat. Long rides were always a struggle as he begged to stop frequently to get a break from his previous seat. However, our 6 year old, who is built differently, weighing more and with a wider hips, hated this seat. She complained that the plastic, adjustable sides pinched her and she really struggled with getting the seatbelt threaded correctly. Overall, we are pleased with the purchase and will continue to use the Mifold for our son as long as we can. ... show more

So glad we bought this for our kiddos while travelling, easy to use on vacation in taxis or Uber or on the plane without needing a much larger booster seat. This just folds up and put away into a backpack or bag.

I bought this for our 3 week trip to California. Thought this would be more comfortable for my incredibly big 8 yr old as sitting in normal boosters make her legs go numb! So first I wanna say the seat part isn’t big enough... the arms are not helpful and makes it difficult for the kids to buckle themselves. If the child moves or adjusts the pad under their bum ends up scooting back due to the shoulder strap attached to the shoulder portion of the seatbelt. Which in turn makes this not safe at all.... there is no way to latch this to a seat to make it stay put. I feel this could have been designed compact but also could have been larger. Sometimes smaller may be “convenient” but it’s incredibly uncomfortable and a much bigger hassle! We ended up sending ours back and just borrowing the neighbors regular booster! I truly was hoping this seat would have worked for us but it very much does not. I followed all the instructions watched YouTube installation videos to attempt to make it the best seat for us and we just couldn’t see how that was possible. I personally would not recommend this product especially with a child who is self sufficient! ... show more

Omg after my 7 year old kept complaining on how small, hard and uncomfortable his regular 40 buck car seat. I dont blame him, those car seats are like cop cars in the back where the suspect goes. This is easy to install with a small, soft seat. It has red clips that adapt the seatbelt to childs size. There is 2 settings of the seat itself for slimmer younger kids and a wider setting for wider or older kids. The back strap adjusts to the back the height of your child to ensure the chest strap is secured to the safest spot. Its gives my young child more freedom and independent feeling. Plus if if need to travel it folds up into a convenient box that can fit in a normal grocery bag. I was looking for something that my son finds comfortable and is safe. Lovely.
