Boy, this stuff is fun. And pretty! I’ve been using new brothread since I bought my Brother SE600 last year. I indulged in the 60 color, then for my birthday I received the 20 pack of metallic thread. Now I found this 40 pack, including the variegated, which I’ve been eyeing for a while, two more metallics and a bunch of new colors (if you already have the 60, take note, there are very few duplicates… check out the picture of my rainbow of threads). Me? Leave a family dinner last night because the Ring notified me Amazon delivered the box? Um… I plead the 5th. If you’re wondering about getting into machine embroidery, be aware it’s not as expensive as you might think. I picked up my machine for about $400 new, then I invested in the thread – and make sure it’s quality thread, there’s crap out there. This stuff is good, it doesn’t shred or break. The only time I’ve ever had a problem it’s been user error (didn’t tighten the needle enough, usually). If you use metallic thread, make sure you get the needles specifically for it – suggestion: Schmetz 80/12 metallic needles. They make it easy to use the thread that gives your projects so much glitter. Bottom line: if you want to supplement your existing stock, or try something new, or just get started, this is a great choice. ... show more

I bought this collection at the suggestion of my sister and am so glad I did! It has all the colors I could imagine needing with just starting out! And the “numbers” have matches up with each pattern so far! The projects have turned out just beautiful! Bright colors and more importantly, NO broken threads so no rethreading my machine! I love that they have this variety pack!! Sometimes my projects just need a little something extra so to have some variegated threads, metallic and solids is awesome. The quality is great as per usual AND I don’t have to baby the metallic thread.
