This machine is absolutely wonderful! For the sewer or seamstress that is moderate to advanced in skill level. This 15–91 model has been around approximately 170 years and will last just as long if it is properly oiled and maintained. It’s lovely to have a newly manufactured model! Magnificent and solid in its production. This is a heavy duty machine that can sew through the lightest to the heaviest fabrics. Be advised that the machine did come with some assembly. For those of us who are not privy to the assembly process the directions aren’t the most helpful. Irregardless, if one puts in a search for “butterfly sewing machine” (YouTube) there are several African fashion designers that walk you through full assembly and Unboxing from their shops. These gorgeous sister’s videos were everything to me!!! They also have follow-up videos for threading and oiling your machine. The most wonderful thing about this product was the support from the seller. My machine had a problem with the stop motion. The seller requested a video to troubleshoot my problem . Despite the language barrier — they sent a new machine with no hassle whatsoever. As a full-time seamstress I don’t need machines with all the whistles and bells. I do not require digital accessories. I only use one stitch -possibly two. (this machine only does 1 straight stitch ) Most importantly, I require a machine that has a solid motor. A machine that can keep up with me as I sew 10 to 12 hours a day. I must say —-my girl is a beast and has improved my work quality/production tenfold.

I usually write glowing reviews but I cannot in good consciousness do that this time. The machine is heavy which is a mark of good quality. It’s pretty and that’s all I’ve got to say on a positive note. Understandably it comes with some assembly needed but the instructions are very poor. Unclear illustrations and no step by step notes so here I am weeks later and it sits in my garage still unusable. Unless you are a sewing machine enthusiast and are very familiar with the mechanics of a machine like this I would absolutely discourage you from this purchase.

First, I did not purchase this machine, had it in my list to purchase until I happened upon one for $8 that needed work. The Singer they mentioned and this machine will sew Sunbrella canvas If the rpm's on the motor are high. They are very heavy machines and worth using instead of more expensive industrial machines if you are looking to DIY a boat canvas. Mine sits in a box my husband built for it and we put a rubber mat under it so it does not slide when sewing. Use size 138 teflon coated thread and a size 20 needle will get you through anything you throw at it. The only thing they don't list, which really determines how tough it is, is the rpm on the motor. It has to be 9000 rpm's to make it through the Sunbrella, heavy duty zippers, vinyl and window vinyl. 7000 rpm's will do it, but can be frustrating when crossing seams, you have to help the machine along in some areas. KEEP IT OILED, that is really key to run smooth and pound through those areas another machine would not do.

There is no adequate manual on how to fix the parts that needs to be connected and I had to go online to search that out after which I found out that some screws were missing. Now it's just there, haven't used it yet. Other than that, I know it's a good machine I have used this type before (butterfly) thats y I ordered same one. I can't snap it now cause am doing this review from work

I haven't try it yet and I am thinking to return it.The reason I purchased is that according to the description it comes with a drop feetbog. But instead came with a cover to use for embroidery.In this case I will keep using my old singer. Also the booklet it came with is very poor no idea how to put it together.
