I actually thought this would work better than my straight iron, I have naturally wavy thick hair. It worked ok but didn't really straighten the underneath. The brush actually pulls your hair I don't understand why you need to hold your hair as you straighten it, I don't hold my hair with my straightening iron. I'll just keep my iron and return this item. I love Paul Mitchell products but this brush isn't a favorite. ... show more

I have bought several hot brushes and this is by far the best one. I use it daily, but it takes a bit to heat all the way and I still have to use my straightener in parts. I have mobile issues so it is better than straightening all of my hair.

Being totally honest I have tried quite a few different versions of these types of “hot brushes” from various brands and I have not really been impressed with any of them…until now that is! This Paul Mitchell Neuro Sleek Smoothing Hot Brush is everything I wanted from a hot brush. The bristles are plastic and hard, but they don’t rip your hair out. You can get a somewhat sleek look by just brushing this from roots to ends like it’s a brush. Or you can get volume and even add a bit of a wave or flip if you go from underneath. The quality is great and it feels solidly made, and it helps a good deal with any frizz. It won’t get your hair as sleek as a hair straightener would, but that’s the point.
