I selected this extender to supplement my Nighthawk R8000, which covers our 2100 sq ft home very well (x2 with great basement coverage as well), but it struggled to maintain connection with a newly installed exterior garage door video keypad (would disconnect when the garage door was closed). The seamless "mesh" feature was the main feature I was looking for and this one does the job, and gives a MAJOR boost to my network's WiFi reach... First the negatives: Installation was accomplished without the need to call customer service, but not without having to re-try some steps, after a few mistakes. The install process started out via the login to the Netgear app on my phone, which was previously connected to my router, but required creating a separate login account for this extender from a computer, plus establishing a separate Admin login password for management of the extender (write these down when you create them!). That's all well & good, but moving further through the installation steps, instructions were not clear when referring to "logging in" as I was left wondering "which account" to log into -- it was not always clear which of these THREE accounts it was referring to. Once I got past those issues through trial & error I finally had a successful installation that I can monitor/configure in the phone app -- but also had a time figuring which password on the app to get into the Extender from there (thankfully my phone is set to save passwords for future access!). The GOOD (and it's really good!): I installed the extender half-way between the router and the troubled exterior garage door Video Keypad, high atop a cabinet above our washer/dryer near the entrance to the garage. Not only did this solve our connectivity issue with the video keypad, but surprisingly extended our network's WiFi coverage well out to into the extremes of back yard on the opposite side of the house! I'm very happy with this unit and would highly recommend it!

I use Google fiber and was having issues with our WiFi and they upgraded us to a newer WiFi 6 router. We found the issues with our Google fiber extender were because with it being located in the basement, it would not get a good enough signal to extend the WiFi. The new extender had to stay upstairs which left our basement (where my main PC is located) with bad WiFi signal. I was debating between one like this or just another Google fiber extender and went ahead and got this to help with the basement and it has definitely done the job! The extender itself was insanely easy to setup. Just plugged it in, downloaded the app, and entered some basic setup info. After that everything was up and running. On top of increasing the signal for the basement I wanted to be able to connect my main PC directly to the new extender and can say this has made significant increases to my PC internet speed. I play a lot of competitive online games and with my current setup I can’t hardwire directly to the router so this is the best I can do, but it works great! Before this extender I couldn’t even play games with how laggy it would get. Now my games are running smooth and my downloads speeds are better as well!

I have the netgear nighthawk modem router (cax80) for my gigabit Xfinity cable internet service. The modem router worked well but I had trouble finding an extender that worked well with it. The EAX80 works seamlessly with the CAX80, easy install using the nighthawk app, one network name, no issues (besides the app being wonky and saying this don’t work or can’t updated then saying never mind everything is fine or saying it cant find my extender but the actual device seemed to be connected then I close out of the app, open it again and oop the extender is connected and everything is fine - that type of thing). Great extender for the cax80 modem router.

I bought this to extend the reach of the Wifi network in my two story house. The price was right for the "slightly" used device; this installation was easy and quick with the Nighthawk phone app. Function is good and as expected. This is my second Netgear extender (the earlier one is almost six years old and still going strong). I am very happy with this unit and can recommend it.
