I have not been impressed with this product. It is supposed to be capable of handling gig speeds. However, since it was purchased it never actually provides that. The speed test function is misleading because it tells you the speed to the orbi that is plugged directly into the router. This makes you think you are getting blazing speeds. However, when you test the speed through other speed tests it rarely pulls in anything more than 300mps. We’ve experienced some internet outages as well due to new fiber instillation in our area. Each time our internet goes out I have to completely factory reset the orbi. It is time consuming. Why can’t it just reconnect once the internet is back on? I just think there are better products that function easier. ... show more

I tried to replace the router with what was described as the Top Choice. It did not go well despite their easy to install instructions. After several hours I had it wrapped and on its way back. I opted to, once again, try Netgear with a new Wi-Fi 7 mesh router. I was able to install it in short order. Some items are difficult to connect. I ordered the Orbi 370 Series to replace the older Orbi Router Model RBR50 and Satellite RBS50 that I have used and loved for the past 4 years. The new 370 series promised higher speeds, WiFi 7, and WPA3 encryption technology. I knew I wouldn't get speeds up to 5 Gbps because my internet speed isn't nearly that fast. What I didn't know until installing the new Orbi devices is WiFi 7 and WPA3 only work if ALL devices on my network are new enough to support the new technology. This is a home network. I can't replace every device every year or two. Also, the older Orbis have extra Ethernet ports for wired connections. The Orbi 370 router and satellite do not have extra Ethernet ports, so I had to buy 2 Gigabit Switches. The last straw was the new router and satellite wouldn't stay connected. The error message said I needed to move the satellite closer to the router. They are in the same places the old router and satellite had been, and where I need them to be for wired connections. I disconnected the new and reinstalled the old Orbi router and satellite. ... show more

I went for "economy" on this purchase. I was looking for an affordable Wifi 7 Mesh router that would handle my 1 Gig cable TV / Internet service. I have a roughly 3700 square foot brick story and a half home. My previous Orbi 40 had two satellites, I purchased this current router with just one Satellite. The signal strength through my home varies from really good to medium strength in the further away points, but gets the job done. Most of my usage is done within a closer distance to the route or satellite and the signal strength is really good. Very happy with my $229 purchase and resulting download speeds. My set-up went fairly smooth given that I'm that "type of Tech Guy that knows just enough to cause himself a lot of problems". ... show more
