I did a lot of research before deciding on this mesh system for my home office and overall internet needs. My home is about 4,300 square feet, and I’d been dealing with spotty and slow internet service in several of the upstairs rooms. With about 30–35 devices connected to my network at any given time, I needed something reliable. Setup: Setup was straightforward. The quick-start instructions were clear, easy to read, and simple to follow. The app walks you through each step, so you don’t need to be tech-savvy to get through the installation process. Satellite Placement: I placed the satellite unit about 40 feet from the main router on the first floor. The instructions suggest two to three rooms away, and my research confirmed that 40 feet is a good range. Performance: I’m now getting strong signals (full bars) in every upstairs room. The difference has been noticeable and much-needed. Installation Time: The entire setup took about 30 minutes. One thing to keep in mind; connecting the base unit to the satellite can take up to 20 minutes. Mine synced a little faster, but don’t worry if it takes longer. Overall: This mesh system has made a big difference in my home internet coverage. Upgraded my 4 year old mesh network to the ORBI 370. Setup was super easy and the performance is outstanding. All my Ring cameras and smart home devices have better signal and runs faster. I would highly recommend!

After several attempts to set up the router failed, I called customer service. After 10 minutes on the phone, they informed me that the router would not function without a $150.00 security package installed, because I had not bought it directly from netgear. I was mocked when I said that can't be true. Another 10 minutes with Google taught me to do a hard reset. After that the setup went smoothly. The router works great now. I ordered the Orbi 370 Series to replace the older Orbi Router Model RBR50 and Satellite RBS50 that I have used and loved for the past 4 years. The new 370 series promised higher speeds, WiFi 7, and WPA3 encryption technology. I knew I wouldn't get speeds up to 5 Gbps because my internet speed isn't nearly that fast. What I didn't know until installing the new Orbi devices is WiFi 7 and WPA3 only work if ALL devices on my network are new enough to support the new technology. This is a home network. I can't replace every device every year or two. Also, the older Orbis have extra Ethernet ports for wired connections. The Orbi 370 router and satellite do not have extra Ethernet ports, so I had to buy 2 Gigabit Switches. The last straw was the new router and satellite wouldn't stay connected. The error message said I needed to move the satellite closer to the router. They are in the same places the old router and satellite had been, and where I need them to be for wired connections. Can't really review this router as I was never able to install it. The first thing that you have to do to install this router is to have an operating Netgear Orbi app. In my case, the app wasn't working. It had been working with the Orbi router that I was replacing but, for some reason, it just would not open now. I tried to contact Netgear support for assistance. But Netgear does not employ human beings to work technical support. Further, in going through their steps to solve a problem, they do not list the app as a product. Hence, you cannot get any support for the app. I will now have to look at routers from another manufacturer. And, this is too bad, as this purchase was my 3rd Netgear router. I have found Netgear products to be excellent and I hope to have the same experience with the new manufacturer. ... show more
