This is a great tool! It is very heavy duty! The chains are thick, solid, and of good quality. The rest of the tool is just as sturdy. Usually these tools are difficult for me to have enough strength in my hands to operate. This tool isn’t easy, yet it’s manageable. I can pull back the handle to release the gears. The size and position of the handle make this easier than on other designs. I plan to add an update if anything significantly changes for this item. Until then, it’s safe to assume everything is still consistent with this review.

This is a very nice come along winch! It appears to be well made and of high quality. It has over 2 ton capacity (4400 lbs) and comes with a heavy duty 7 foot steel cable installed. The cable hooks are self locking so they won't fall off whatever you hook them too. The gear is well made and very strong looking. The handle is also well made and long enough to give you good leverage. The end of the handle has a plastic cover so it will be comfortable on your hand when you use it. Overall, this is a great item. At this price, its a great value as well.

The come along winch I received is unfortunately a defective model. Mine would not press the release to allow the winch to lower properly. As the handle teeth move up it is supposed to press the release latch. Mine didn't do that as you can see in the picture. Beyond malfunctioning, the cable is heavy duty and ratcheting is easy to do. The hooks are properly sized for the pulling capacity. However, pulling out the cable is a challenge. besides moving the spring on the handle (as seen in the video) you need to press the release lever and pull really hard to move the cable out. Maybe this would loosen up over time, but I am not sure. As a result of these problems, I just can't give it a higher star review. This will most likely be thrown away because of the malfunction.

This 2-ton come-along seems to be well made and works fine. Comparing it to another one I have (in the photos, the one with the black handle), their construction is very similar. Pros vs. my old come-along: 1. The gears and pawl are solid steel, vs. my old one where they are 3 laminated steel plates Cons vs my old come along 1. The metal the handle is constructed from is thinner, however it does seem to still be plenty strong. 2. The handle is flat, and more of a plastic than rubber. My old one has a round rubber handle that is more comfortable to pull. One other minor complaint: there were no instructions in the box. If you're not familiar with these, you don't know that you need to move the spring so the pawl is disengaged to release the cable, or engaged when tightening. Granted, this is explained on the Amazon listing, but including 1 page with this info would have been nice. But overall, it's a solid come-along at a very reasonable price.

This 2-ton come along has been a great tool for light-duty work around my property. If you’re planning to move large boulders or pull vehicles regularly, I’d recommend spending a bit more on a higher-rated model. But for general yard and utility use, this one works perfectly for me. I’ve used it to add leverage when pulling out stubborn bushes, helping fell a small leaning tree, and even getting my lawnmower out of a ditch. It’s also plenty strong for hanging a deer during processing season. It’s easy to use, compact, and does exactly what it’s designed to do within its limits. As long as you match the tool to the task, this is a solid, dependable come along and a great value for light-duty jobs.
