  • Worth the money and great connectivity
Style: WiFi 7, 6.5Gbps
This is a great wireless adapter. A little expensive but worth it for its ease of install and quality. I have never received a device with a USB included which I’m assuming are for the drivers. I wish more manufacturers did this! I already had access to WiFi so I downloaded the latest drivers from the NETGEAR site. The speeds are great, and the dock allows me to place the card on my desk instead of the back of the PC. A nice upgrade over my WiFi 6e card. Only thing I wish was the USB to be a little longer, or the stand to be magnetic for case mount. But it functions well and gets good signal. ... show more

  • Quick, Stable, Easy install, compact for the type, Works great, worth the money for me.
Style: WiFi 7, 6.5Gbps
NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK WIFI 7 (A9000) USB ADAPTER. (**AT THIS TIME THE A9000 WILL ONLY WORK WITH WIN-11 OPERATING SYSTEM PER NETGEAR.) Replacing a Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 for which a driver has been giving trouble. The A9000 is much quicker & more stable. **My set up: tower computer on 3rd floor of economy hotel with the router about 100 feet away & couple of walls in the way. Computer under the desk & A9000 in cradle on top of my printer so I used a GOOD quality USB patch cable to cover the distance. ( Cable on A9000 short compared to old AC1900 so good I already had an extension USB cable.) I also have ATT internet Air device which is a little bit better than hotel internet but each can get overloaded so if overloaded I switch to the other. 3 tests each tester over A9000, Speed test: M-Lab (down Mbps/ up Mbps) (43.1/ 6.17--42.14/ 7.50--43.3/ 7.37) Fast Speed (37.0/ 2.5--39.0--5.3--38.0/ 5.5) OOKLA (29.16/ 2.52--22.19/ 3.66--26.35--5.35). ***A9000 Cons: Price, Short cable, No magnets to hold cradle down & Overly thick cable makes cradle get out of position so I have it weighted down--might add magnets later. only works with Win-11. ***A9000 Pro: Easy installation from included USB, Quick, Stable, , compact compared to AC1900. ... show more

  • A serious upgrade if you know how to optimize your performance on it A serious upgrade if you know how to optimize your performance on it
Style: WiFi 6, 3.0Gbps
I almost returned this adapter after the first day because I wasn't seeing the speeds I expected. I'm glad I didn't. Before buying this, I was using an older USB Wi-Fi adapter and getting around 90 Mbps. After installing the NETGEAR A8000 and doing a little troubleshooting, I'm now consistently seeing 450-500 Mbps downloads on my desktop while connected through a wall from my router. Latency is excellent as well, averaging around 14 ms with no packet loss. Here's the important part: if you buy this adapter, plug it into a random USB port, leave the default settings alone, and immediately leave a 1-star review, you're probably not giving it a fair chance. A few things I learned: Install the latest drivers from NETGEAR. Make sure you're using a USB 3.0 port (usually blue). This was a huge difference for me. Verify you're actually connecting to the 5 GHz or 6 GHz band instead of 2.4 GHz. Disable power-saving settings for the adapter and USB ports. Use a High Performance power plan in Windows. Give the adapter a good location instead of burying it behind a metal PC case. Once I did those things, the performance completely changed. My adapter connected to the 6 GHz band on my Xfinity XB8 gateway and negotiated a 1201 Mbps link speed. Real-world performance ended up being roughly five times faster than the adapter I was replacing. The included desktop cradle is a nice touch, setup was straightforward, and the connection has been stable ever since. I was originally considering buying a mesh extender because I thought my Wi-Fi signal was the problem. Turns out my old adapter was the bottleneck. If you're looking for a plug-and-play miracle, your results may vary. If you're willing to spend 10 minutes making sure everything is configured correctly, this adapter can absolutely fly. Very happy with the purchase and definitely keeping it. ... show more

  • Complete insanity and an Update
Style: WiFi 6, 3.0Gbps
The product was great And worked as advertised. Unfortunately you cannot register it with Netgear as the Company website cannot recognize the serial number printed on the box. It maintains that the products country of is incorrect. Because the serial number is not valid you cannot file an action with Customer Service since the serial number is not recognized by Netgear. I doubt that Amazon is selling fakes but it appears that I am cut off from software updates, firmware updates and any advice from Netgear because they cannot recognize the serial number printed on the box housing the product. This has been an amazingly painful customer experience. After calling Netgear and complaining about my experience I found and CSR who was willing to help solve my problem. The same Serial Number that was rejected when I used it worked for her and the product is now registered. However, the experience with the actual install worsened. Although the installation software indicates that it will disable other Wi-Fi adapters, it did not do so, as there was a low speed Intel modem integrated in the PC motherboard that I had to disable. After doing that I found that the AXE3000 was not working correctly and that there had been an update to the installation software, although I had used the fob included with the product for the install (and it was this that was out-of-date). So I installed the new software and somewhere in the process other software on the computer was damaged. I was moving a computer for my spouse's use to a room she had chosen that did not have a LAN connection so I thought the AXE3000 would be a good choice. It was for most things as its speed is quite high. However, somewhere in the process the installation damaged data for Battlenet and Worlds of Warcraft and the game (played by my spouse for two decades) is now unplayble and I am unable to find a fix. Thanks Netgear. ... show more

  • Definitely prefer the external wifi card.
Style: WiFi 6, 3.0Gbps
I just received this today and I am experiencing better Wi-Fi coverage than I have in MONTHS. I operate off of an Alienware M16 Laptop positioned on the second floor of a townhouse, on the opposite side of the residency from where my router is. Even with a Wi-Fi extender, my internet was cutting out regularly. I did a lot of troubleshooting and was confidently able to determine: it has to either be the Wi-Fi card on the laptop, or the distance from the router, or both. Out of the box, this Nighthawk USB Adapter works fantastic. Adding yet another device that can more powerfully receive and send Wi-Fi signals, I am now getting Download speeds of 228mbps (whereas before with the built-in card, I was only getting 30-130mbps. The red flag should have been how much it was varying throughout the day). I think eventually when I upgrade back to a desktop I will use this. It's fast and easy to setup. Driver support is easy. And as for gaming? I am having better play experiences than I've had in MONTHS. This is probably better than the built in wifi card. ... show more

  • Amazing for Mini Pc
Style: WiFi 6, 3.0Gbps
Amazing product. I have a mini pc and for some reason (maybe due to the metal casing), even though the wifi chip inside is decent it gets terrible wifi speeds. Before I got this unit, I was getting maybe 150-200 Mbps on a good day. As soon as got this and changed over wifi adapter to this unit, my speeds are now consistently 600+. ... show more

  • Solid WiFi 6E Adapter With Minor Connection Quirks
Style: WiFi 6, 3.0Gbps
Product: Netgear Nighthawk WiFi 6E USB 3.0 Adapter Used for: 1 year and 8 months Key Features: – WiFi 6E support for faster speeds and lower latency – Simple plug-and-play setup (may need software on some systems) – Sturdy build quality with a sleek design Ratings: Quality: The build quality feels solid and durable, and the design is well thought out. After nearly two years of use, mine still works great—and I even bought a second one, which says a lot about my trust in it. Rating: 5/5 Performance: Speeds and stability are generally very good, making it great for gaming and streaming. The only downside is that every now and then it randomly refuses to connect, and I have to unplug and plug it back in to fix it. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely annoying when it happens. Rating: 4/5 Value: It’s a bit on the pricey side, but if you can catch it on sale, it’s definitely worth it. For solid WiFi 6E performance in a USB adapter, it does its job well. Rating: 4/5 Pros: – Strong build quality and design – Fast WiFi 6E speeds – Easy setup Cons: – Random connection drop that requires replugging – A little expensive unless bought on sale Summary: The Netgear Nighthawk WiFi 6E USB 3.0 Adapter is a solid choice if you need fast and stable WiFi on a desktop or laptop. It’s built well, performs great most of the time, and delivers the speed you’d expect from a 6E adapter. The occasional connection hiccup is frustrating, but overall it’s a reliable option—especially if you can grab it on discount. Overall Rating: 4/5 Disclaimer: This review is based on my personal experience using the product. • Helped with Wifi 5
Style: WiFi 6, 3.0Gbps
I have an older network card that wasn't capable of Wifi 5, only 2.4. This adapter was reasonably priced and easy to install, and solves the problem.
