Title: Huge upgrade from my old router Description: I bought the NETGEAR Nighthawk RS90 to replace the basic router from my internet provider, and the difference was noticeable right away. Setup through the Nighthawk app was pretty straightforward, and I had everything running in about 10 minutes. The Wi-Fi coverage in my home has been excellent so far. I’m getting strong signal in rooms that used to have weak or spotty Wi-Fi with my old router. Streaming, video calls, and regular browsing have all been smooth, even with multiple devices connected at the same time. The router supports Wi-Fi 7 speeds up to about 3.6 Gbps and can handle around 50 connected devices, which is more than enough for a typical household. Another thing I like is the 2.5-gig internet port, which helps take advantage of faster cable or fiber internet plans if you have them. The router also includes built-in security with NETGEAR Armor, which adds some extra peace of mind for all the devices on the network. Overall, if you’re upgrading from an older Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 router, this is a great step up without spending a fortune. The good: good, solid performance, fast download speed, affordable price. The bad: instead of demanding to change to a new password, "firmware update" should be the very first step in setting up. The ugly: occasionally dropped the Ethernet connection after the PC sat idling for a long time. When coming out of PC idling, it went for the WIFI connection instead, ignoring the presence of the Ethernet connection. Had to unplug/replug the Ethernet cable to revive it. ... show more
