Wow! Been brewing coffee for 10 years with a Keurig (K cups) and the machine is almost worn out, so got this Nespresso expecting the same type of experience. WRONG! Keurig makes coffee out of those K cups that is slightly more watery than your drip coffee maker. Its essentially a cup of coffee, impacted by the type of K cup you have purchased. Never thought they were as good as a drip coffee but have not tried all the available K cups. Nespresso! Wow! Nespresso is a luxorious frothy and upscale experience. I feel like I have to buy an apron and hire the neighbor kid as my barista to dispense this high quality morning brew. Crazy! Nespresso coffee comes out with a really nice froth/crema, and is rich and delicious. Dare I say better than a drip coffee? But expensive. Both companies have adopted the injet printer model: "give away the printer and make the money on the consumables (ink)." Here you get a machine for relatively little, but those tiny coffee pods will get you with the $$$. Nespresso is really pricey, way more than Keurig. And many of the Nespresso pods will only make between 2 and 3 ounces of liquid! Don't assume you get a full cup of coffee with Nespresso- you have to read the coffee pod language very carefully, many of them are only a couple of ounces (espresso style). While I can use Keurig every day for a few cups of coffee, the Nespresso pods (and neighbor kid) are a luxury that I can't justify every day. So not for everyday drinking you have to pace the expense! Some little observations- the foamy action is pretty substantial- you can't really see where your milk/cream is going when you put it in, so go by measurement not by viewing color. The temperature is a little lower than standard coffee or K cups. And be sure to close the lid all they way when brewing. If you close it halfway and then go back it may open and toss your unused pod into the 'used' bin. When you put in a pod, close and lock immediately to avoid this issue. This is an amazing coffee system! I actually have 2 "Nespresso virtue Next coffee & espresso makers". I have a gray one that I got at a local store that I have been using for a year and then this one. I LOVE the black color of this machine better than my other gray one. These machines are great because they are so versatile. I also feel its sold at a great price. They can make an espresso, a coffee or a latte. There is even a carafe option for when you have guests. If your machine doesnt come with a milk frother, get one. I've even taken it on vacations with us. Anyways, this machine is super easy to use. The machine reads the pod so no guess work because each pod makes a certain thing. There are TONS of coffee/espresso flavors available. One you choose a flavor and make your drink, it automatically goes into a build in trash collection. It also has a rather large water canister. There is also a program, where you can send your pods back, to be reused so they don't end up in a landfill somewhere. This set also comes with a sample pack of pods. P.s. you will see in one of my photos, that the machine has a bunch of stuff on it from the factory. I think its cardboard. I found that it just wipes off, so dont worry. ... show more

    • Best home brew coffee machine I've tried!
My husband and I have been thinking about switching to Nespresso for several months, and finally went for it! I'm honestly so glad that we did as it's the best at home brew that I've tried. When it first arrived, I'll admit that I was a little concerned by its appearance as it was covered in dust from the inside packaging. Once we cleaned it up, it is very sleek and nice looking, plus a fairly low profile on the counter. Because it came with a sample pack of pods, we were able to try something right away and I can say that every coffee we've tried has been delicious! The brew is the perfect temperature to be able to drink right away. The coffee that this machine produces is frothy and balanced in flavor. I'm not usually an espresso drinker but even a double shot of espresso came out perfect. It's a bonus that the water tank fits under the fridge dispenser, and that the pods can be sent back for recycling (as I don't love the excess waste from single use things). I wish we hadn't hesitated so long as I'm in love with my new coffee machine and, as somebody that works from home, it's well worth the splurge. ... show more

I’ve never had a Nespresso machine before. It operates more simply than I first thought. I do like how the pods are aluminum instead of plastic and are recyclable. It is interesting that the different style coffees range in serving size depending on what you choose. The machine automatically knows how much to serve, but if you really want, you can adjust the amount to your favor. There is a good assortment of flavors and styles to choose from, mainly on their own website with different perks for shipping etc. Starbucks also makes flavors that can be purchased in some grocery stores and online. The only real drawback for me versus other single cup makers, is that this one does not have a refillable pod to use with any ground coffee of your choice. They do have an app with videos of maintenance procedures and an app for pod purchases which is helpful. The $149 price point is aligned with most single cup makers. ... show more
