EDIT: I wrote this review in 2017. I love this machine so much I decided I should come back and say that after 2 years it’s still going strong! It’s construction is obviously very high quality, no surprise since it’s made in Switzerland. Probably one of the best Nespresso machines on the market.// The machine simply works really well. Came packaged very nicely and professionally with 16 pods of each flavor to try and also came with a coupon for $10 off a reorder of pods. The pods were about a month expired but it really doesn’t matter, those expiry dates are essentially meaningless especially for Nespresso pods. It was nice of them to even include free pods in the first place. The machine makes delicious espresso in a few seconds and it’s the perfect temperature for me. If you like a hotter espresso, startup the machine and run a lungo of water (with no pod) before inserting a pod and making espresso. The appearance of the machine is very nice and it employs nice materials. I was expecting the side panels to be plastic and the pump handle to be plastic, but they are in fact high-quality metal pieces. My only complaint about the machine is that it drips for a while after making the espresso, but that’s no problem because there’s a drip tray. Aeroccino makes perfect milk froth and hot frothed milk. One thing that isn’t conveyed very well in the Aeroccino documentation: the lower “MAX” line is the limit for milk frothed with the spring (whisk) attachment and the upper line is the limit for milk frothed without that spring attached. I find a rubber spatula works well for getting the froth out. Make sure you don’t use a metal spoon, that will damage the coating on the metal and ruin the frother. ... show more

It took us a while to make a decision on an espresso maker. We sent back two Amazon purchases, but this Pixie is terrific. We found our machine. It's well made, easy to use, and cranks out a great espresso with crema every time. No hit or miss. No coffee grounds on the counter. Just a really nice highly caffeinated espresso. Now, we only have a few espresso a week. Too much caffeine to have everyday, but this machine does exactly what we need -- provides a simple fool proof way to pull a nice espresso. End of story. If you were a barista or love hand pulled espresso, than maybe a Nespresso machine is not right for you. We bought the refillable stainless steel pods but haven't used them yet. And, from reviews I've read, you really only get the perfect cup of espresso by using the Nespresso pods. But, that's what this machine is made to provide, and it does it really well. Plus, it looks great, and the design feels really smart. No unnecessary parts or dials. It's a little loud when it generates the espresso (I guess that's the 19 bar pump at work), but that really wasn't a concern for us. The Aerocino is nice to froth milk. Works just like the auto-frother we already had. Again, if you want a perfect flat white, to make latte art, or you drink espresso every day, you probably need to get an actual espresso machine and use your own coffee grounds. But, if you want a quick easy way to make a really good espresso at home, I highly recommend this Pixie machine by DeLongi. ... show more

I've had it now for little over 2 years. My husband uses it all the time. It works really well and makes great coffee. It might have problem with some off brands, or refillable pods with dripping, but if you use any of the name brand pods, the coffee is perfect every time. We get whatever is on sale. Amazon has good name brands and grocery stores have Lavazza, Llave, Pete's, even Starbucks (which I personally don't like). Yes, there is some dripping in the drip tray, but isn't that why it's there? I haven't found it to be an issue where I have to empty it frequently. Not if you use the right pods. I usually empty the drip tray when the used pods container gets full. I empty both at the same time. Again, this thing has been used daily for over a year and frequently for a total of 2 years and it works great every time and the coffee is perfect with the perfect amount of Crema. No complaints here whatsoever. In fact, I recommend it to all my friends and family. I had friends that had it now going over 7 years and they never had any issues with it. Which is the reason why I bought this model. I did add the extended warranty from Amazon, but it's going to run out in a few months and I never needed to use it. ... show more
