I was looking for a new espresso machine to replace an espresso machine that I had fallen out of love with. I believe that espresso machines should be simple and inexpensive to maintain. Having coffee experience( former coffee master for a major coffee chain for over ten years) I was wanting a quality machine that exclusively produced espresso shots only. With its small foot print and fantastic price point, I snagged the Nespresso Inissa Espresso Machine on Cyber Monday for an amazing price. I have used it for a couple months and love it. Pros: -Compact; fits anywhere especially if you have a small kitchen or countertop -Economical; uses the original line of Nespresso pods and/or generic pods are readily available now -Quality extraction of espresso shots with tasty creama production within the shot. You can kiss your daily coffeehouse habit away and make complex quality coffeehouse drinks at home if you have a milk frother. -Quality Construction, no-flimsy-anything on this espresso machine! -Easy and straight forward to use... you can toss the owner’s manual! Cons: -Small water reservoir (I don’t think this necessarily is a bad thing because you don’t want water hanging out in your reservoir 24-7 with bacterial growth) - It’s loud but the former machine I owned was just as loud. The trade off for a tiny machine and performance! - You have to empty the used espresso pods often since the discard chute is small. Overall, it was a great buy! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and enjoy the savings of making your own espresso based drinks at home.

I live in the middle of BFE in the oh so exciting state of Ohio. My choices for coffee where I live are McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell and Timmy Ho's. The coffee I WANT to drink all the time is Starbucks, but that requires me to take a THIRTY MINUTE drive to one of the nearby cities that I don't live or work in. I ordered this bad boy on a whim, seeing all of the great reviews it had gotten, as well as a starter pack of espresso pods to keep me going. It arrived as expected and I set it up as per the instructions. Once ready I made my first cup of coffee. My life has never been the same. No longer do I cry softly to myself over the lack of Starbucks where I live, for I can now make equal/better quality coffee in the comfort of my own home for a fraction of the cost! My boyfriend drinks coffee every day and he absolutely LOVES what this machine produces! We even went ahead and ordered a milk frother on Amazon for $25 and now we make cappuccinos every day. It's awesome. The only downside is that once you start drinking coffee this amazing every day you get used to having high quality beverages. All the time. You go to your mother's house and she offers you coffee but it's made in a plain ol' coffee maker and it's freaking DECAF Maxwell House-you hate Maxwell House-and all you want to die at the fact that this coffee tastes like absolute crap but you can't tell her off because she's your mother and- Er, well...yeah. It sort of raises the standard. The only downside is that this machine isn't very tall and difficult to fit cups underneath. I'm assuming that this is because the people living in Europe have their crap together while us here in America need a whole gallon of coffee just to make it through the day without killing anyone. Other than that, excellent coffee maker! Yes, the coffee itself is a bit on the pricier side, but if you're wanting higher quality coffee this is actually a pretty good money saver all things considered.

I've been using a K-cup machine for years now, but after staying in a hotel with one of these in the room, I had to switch. I held out until my K-cup machine started acting up, but once it did, I was on the hunt! I settled on this model because it was a good price, comparatively, and because it had a decent size reservoir. This is a good entry machine to the Nespresso line. Yes. It is loud. But, I guess I need to wake up anyway! I think if I were in an apartment where I shared a wall with a neighbor, I might be concerned about disturbing them when I'm making coffee at 5am. I was happy to find out I could program the buttons to give me more coffee than the default program. I wouldn't go so far as to try to fill an 8oz cup, but I can easily get a couple of extra ounces out of it. Besides, you can't really put a large cup under the nozzle on this one. I was also VERY pleased to find out about Nespresso's recycling program for the pods. I had originally gone with the original line machine because you have a lot of options of other manufacturers of the pods, but the flavor from the Nespresso pods combined with their free recycling convinced me to order genuine product pods. All in all, I'm happy enough with this machine that if it serves me well for the next couple of months, I may take this one to the office and get an upgraded machine for home.

Bought for my wife for Christmas 2018 - she was delighted with it. It's simple to use compared to the "sophisticated" espresso machines. (And much less expensive!) There is a slight learning curve on inserting the pods - it seems easy to get them inserted too far and then they don't move into the proper position for use. We burned through 3 or 4 misfires before realizing that this was a critical process. Once we realized that and were more careful in inserting them, we had flawless espresso. I purchased the SquareTrade extended 2 year warrantee for $5 - seemed like a bargain. If I can get 2 or more years out of this little baby I'm more than money ahead over her one-drink-a-day habit from the local coffee shop. And it saves me from going out on those cold days to get it for her. We're only a few days into it, but so far I'd highly recommend it!

I'm a coffee novice so I always thought all espresso was incredibly bitter. I guess the first time I tried it that was my experience anyway. But when I saw this on sale for about sixty bucks on Black Friday, I thought, OK, I'll give it a shot. Wow. What a pleasant surprise! I've been using a Keurig for about 10 years, but that thing is getting donated because ever since I got the Nespresso my Keurig hasn't been powered on once. The espresso that comes out of this machine is so good I need about half the sweetener I use for regular coffee. The bright, intense flavor makes coffee seem like dishwater. Now, about this particular machine. Because it's my first foray into the Nespresso world, I didn't know what the machine should or shouldn't do. There are only two size options: Espresso, which delivers a little more than an ounce of espresso, and Lungo, which yields about 3.5 ounces. The cool thing is that these buttons are completely customizable! What more than one ounce on your espresso? Just hold the button down when starting and release it when it's at the amount you want. From then on, that's the amount of espresso you'll get. The buttons can also be reset back to factory defaults. First thing I noticed is that this baby is ready to go in 30 seconds from the time you first power it on. Sor there's no more need for clocks and timers that power the machine on beforehand. It also turns itself after nine minutes, which saves a lot more power than the Keurig and most other conventional coffee makers. The second thing I noticed is that it's loud, but it's putting a heck of amount of pressure through that little pod, so it's to be expected from an entry level machine. Third thing: because this puts out such a tiny amount of liquid, it cools down very quickly. That's where the milk heater/frother accessory comes in. I haven't bought one yet because I frankly like iced espresso anyway but if you want a hot drink you're going to have to heat the milk yourself or invest in a frother that heats the milk too. Fourth: This particular machine continues to drip for quite a while after finishing making a cup, so unless you leave the cup under the spout you're going to eventually have coffee all over your counter. At first I thought my machine was leaking, and actually, it might be. But even if it's just the dripping, it' annoying, and something Nespresso should correct for, even in their low end machines. Speaking of low-end machines, another Nespresso model, the Essentia Mini, went on sale on Amazon a couple of weeks after the Inissia for--you guessed it--60 bucks, and I figured it was so cheap it would be good to have a backup anyway, and it would be nice to compare and contrast the two units. Well, apparently, from what I've read, the Essentia Mini does exactly the same things the Inissia does but in a housing that's about half the size of the Inissia! It's so tiny that it looks more like a pod storage cabinet than an espresso machine itself. The water reservoir is slightly smaller in the Essentia Mini, as is the storage bin for used pods. But here's where the Essentia Mini is better: drips. It still drips, but doesn't seem to do so as much or for as long as the Inissia. And it doesn't have that awkward flip up cup holder so you can get cups right under the spout (but your clearance is shorter on the Essentia, so keep that in mind, too). Otherwise, the two machines are identical in what they produce and how they are operated. I'm choosing to keep the Essentia Mini because it's footprint is so incredibly small and because I'm still thinking the Inissia has a leak somewhere. There's more espresso showing up on my counter than I think could be explained by just the dripping after it makes a cup of espresso. And now for one big caveat that has nothing to do with the machine but everything to do with Amazon: If you think you're going to be able to return your Inissia to Amazon, even if you're within the return time period, think again. When I tried to return mine I got a response saying that it was "ineligible for return". Three different Amazon agents said the same thing, but no one could give me a reason why Amazon wouldn't take it back! Nothing in the item description said it was ineligible either, and it doesn't meet any of the criteria that makes something ineligible either. (One rep tried to tell me the reason is because there are glass parts inside the machine! Uh, no there's no glass in there, and even if there were, I've returned things with glass in them to Amazon before with no problem). Eventually, one agent said if I sent a picture showing that the machine leaks, they'd refund my money. That's the dumbest thing ever! A photo doesn't prove that a machine leaks! And I'd already carefully packed it up for return anyway. But I jumped through their hoops anyway. So I unpacked the machine and sent a picture of it with espresso drips on the counter. And Amazon did refund my money and didn't even require me to return the machine.

I tried my first Nespresso when I was staying in a hotel in Washington, DC. And I was hooked! I just got my machine a few days ago and, honestly, I don't see how I can back to regular coffee. This machine has a small footprint. It's easy to clean and easy to use; although a couple of the Nespresso pods I got with the machine got stuck when I went to close it, and I had to throw them away. But this is absolutely the best coffee I've ever had! I bought some Bestpresso pods for this, and they're great at a fraction of the cost of Nespresso. I love this machine so much, I'm going to figure out a way to take it with me when I fly up North to house-sit! Oh, and I got this for $96 because it's one of the older Inissia models!

I love these machines but this one seems ot have broken after 3 weeks - the other one by nespresso not de longhi lasted 3 years. It now does not pierce the capsules and also spills water everywhere. I am very disappointed that I can't return it after only 3 weeks. 1 DAY LATER: I called amazon and they are sending a free replacement - so I am happy with that. These are usually really good machines. 3 months later: I ha ew reduced my review to 1 star because this one also broke after 3 months. It no longer will puncture the pods, so nothing comes out. This is my third machine. It also leaked too much coffee into the reservoir under the cup. The old machines 9not made by de longhi) were better. Greta machine, if only they lasted longer than a few months - at this price it should last at least 3 years in my mind. too bad. I ma going ot try the Essentia when they go on sale for black friday :(
