First of all, this is expensive but moreso the coffee pods are expensive. And coffee selection is limited. Yes, all true if you buy from Nespresso. Don't do that. Buy from a place like Fresh Roasted Coffee and you have a better selection of good coffee for less cost (50 cents/pod). Note that each pod makes a very small volume of coffee, so you're talking three pods per serving. Three pods at $1-$2 each makes an expensive mug of coffee, but at 50 cents each it becomes quite reasonable and better than what you could buy at a coffee shop. Yes, the good coffee selection makes it comparable to some coffee shop drip coffees or even Americano. I have not been brave enough to try this as an espresso with froth - don't know if it will be strong enough. For travel, this is excellent! I plan to use in my RV. Small space, QUICK good coffee (also means low power draw), and easy contained trash and cleanup! Beautiful for that use case. I want to figure how to re-use the pods which sounds messy, but just keeping used pods in a zip-lock bag is easy while traveling. As a primary coffee maker I would say still too expensive per mug. I have an espresso machine for everyday home coffee. I added my notes on the coffee pod varieties that came with the machine (see pic), but advise looking at Fresh Roasted Coffee pods for Nespresso - Italian Toast and Drago flavors were good for me. ... show more

This tiny machine makes a cup of espresso or a lungo quickly and easily. I like that it came with a starter package of coffee pods so you could try some out before purchasing a larger quantity. The first machine I bought leaked on the counter very badly but it was quickly replaced by Amazon. This second one works perfectly. I bought the bundle with the Aerochinno, and, even with that, it feels expensive. The taste is great, but the aerochino always makes too much foam, or too little, and the machine itself is made from plastic and it feels like it could break if one isn't careful. Is not a bad product, and I understand is an entry-level machine, but precisely for that, it shouldn't cost this much. ... show more

This machine makes an excellent cup of Nespresso, surprisingly good! However, it appears the pump is failing already and water does not seem to be getting through the capsule. I did run descaling fluid through it in case it was blocked by build up of salts in the water or coffee, but it did not really make a difference.
