I used this every day for my week at the beach. For years I was dragging down a 12x12 pop up canopy for my family, who are all very fair skinned and burn easily. This was a pleasant change from all that. The first time I tried to set it all up it kept falling down on me. It was getting really really frustrated until I stopped everything to watch a few YouTube videos for setting up with a breeze. (pro tip: bring a decent shovel with you, fill the bags with as much sand as you can, then fill it more. Then after you stretch the tent out, bury the sand bags and cover them. Only then can you try putting up the poles.) We had some very very strong winds two of the days on the beach and this thing only fell once when an sandbag let go, that was my fault though, wasn't filled enough. Otherwise it was stable and steady every day and gave great shade to my family. My only two complaints, the bag ripped apart the second use, all the stitching ripped apart so I had to carry under my arm instead of using the shoulder strap. Then I noticed that the material is water resistant and the bird poop just deflects off of it, which is nice, but where it did it you can see the fabric was damaged by acidic content of the poop and it looked thinner. I'm wondering how I'm going to fix it if the tent fabric tears, is like to use it more than once for a week every year. ... show more

Make sure you purchase extra poles. It only comes with 2. There is a learning curve for set up, especially if you are used to the pop-up tent style. Those are very sturdy but very heavy. This tent is extremely light and small which is great when transporting all your stuff. Also, the instructions say put a lot of sand in the bags. Take this seriously. When you think it’s filled enough, put more especially in windy conditions. ... show more

My wife and I have struggled to keep this upright when the wind shifts. It is a very lightweight shade and easy to stand up. We fill the hell out of the bags, and then fill more. However where we use this shade the wind can shift from due south to southeast. When the wind start from the side, it eventually will blow the shade down. We did get the extra poles for support and that is not helping. If I figure out the secret sauce, I will bump this up to a 5 star ... show more

I've owned two Neso Gigante tents and while I could rave about the sun protection I scratch my head at how they could go with such a poor quality bag. Within the first few uses carrying to and from the beach the shoulder straps on both tents just ripped right off while carrying. I was skeptical but wow! I put the Neso tent up twice by myself and was amazed how easy it was. Make sure the opening is pointing into the wind! We bought a second set of poles and when the wind died down, we used them in the back. I would suggest buying the shorter pole for the back, so you still get the lean-to. You can fit 8 people in the shade of this tent and it takes up a lot of beach. would recommend the middle size one for a family of 4. ... show more

Great product. It has to be completely oriented against the wind otherwise it will collapse. If you set up it correctly it will offer a perfect sunscreen and will withstand pretty strong winds. If the wind is stronger i recommend digging holes and placing the sandbags in. I absolutely love the product, take it to the beach every time I go, and I can set it up all by myself in few minutes. ... show more

We absolutely loved this sun shade. It did have a learning curve to figure out how to best put up in high wind. Once I figured it out it stayed all day. We purchased the extra poles and used them most of the time. I found that when the wind was 15 mph the shade worked best with 3 poles. We received lot of compliments due to the pretty color and being the only canopy that was up in high wind. I found putting the sand bags in a hole and building a mound was needed on high wind days. I purchased an ice scoop to keep in my bag it was light weight and I could fill the sand bags quickly due to the scoops size. I was surprised at how the next morning when setting up I always had a lot of sand on the cover from take down the night before. You can knock the sand off but not very easily. This meant I always had sand all over myself early in my day. I did have to set up and take down on my own so that may also have something to do with it. I would still say that the shade was worth it. It was nice to only have a small bag to carry when setting up for the day. The extra poles do add some weight but I liked the compact size of the over all unit. ... show more

This tent worked great at the beach. We are very happy with how lightweight it was and how effortless it was to set it up compared to the steel frame pop-up tents that we have been using for years. The NESO carry case has a sewn on carry strap that broke off on the 2nd day of our beach trip.
