  • Great saw! BIG! This is like cutting trees down with a moped!!
Style: NH872 with 24'' Bar/Chain
After warming up the saw I wanted see how well it cut. I must say I was impressed!!! By a number of things! 1 - it went through trees like butter - my 18” had difficulty with. 2 - it runs smooth and not near as loud as I expected. Don’t get me wrong it’s a big saw but engine sounds good - not all noisy. 3 - the cut width and power is crazy good. Best thing about it is I did not have to apply any pressure. It chewed right through the trees with minimal effort. And last I must say this is the first saw I could cut clean through a large tree putting a 30% notch on one side then cut slightly higher on other side till about 5-10% of the cut was left and at that point the tree just fell right where the cut was perpendicular to. Let me hit target every time so far. Now the sad part is I have a lot more trees to clean up and chop up since it drops them so fast!! ... show more

  • It's a beast.
Style: NH872 with 28'' Bar/Chain
Came with a bunch of accessories to get you started. Getting the saw started....another story. It does start well but only if you follow the starting procedure exactly, and it is not printed on the side of the saw. Learn them! I thought I might be over-matched with starting and handling this size of saw [I'm old] but the compression release makes starting okay and despite the 30" blade, I can control this saw. And it does cut like the beast it is! I recommend a hard hat as the brake will stop the chain in a buck but the blade will still likely come back at you and even a stopped chain is bad news. Update; I recommend swapping the plug to an Autolite XST2974DP as the saw began to bog on full throttle after maybe an hour total time on the stock plug. Runs great. ... show more

  • CAUTION: RECIEVED WITH SERIOUS INTERNAL CYLINDER BORE ISSUES THAT TYPICALLY COMES FROM VERY POOR....
Style: NH872 with 24'' Bar/Chain
I was very concerned about the manufacturing quality After reading so many bad reviews from customers that were reporting having problems with the motors so I decided that I would look inside of the cylinder bore with a borescope inspection camera before I fueled it or ran the motor to see what I was dealing with. July 2024 Update: ***They Now have let me know that they have special (undocumented from what I can find) "After Sales Policies" that are limiting the service and repair fees? I asked the seller for clarification of where they are pulling these new (After Sales Policies from) that are limiting their warranty repair charges to $65 , including parts and Labor???, but so far they have not been able to provide me with any details as of yet??? Very Sad! After several inquiries to the seller about where I could find the full list of there Very Important After Sales Policies they never provided me with any of their written policies, but they would not pay for the required repair because "it was more than there "After Sales Policy" (that I was unable to get a copy of) would allow for. I contacted Amazon Customer service and after they reviewed the conversations with the seller, they provided me with a full refund for this product, So Please be aware of what you are dealing with here and fully inspect, inside and out, the saw before fully accepting it, or you may be seriously disappointed with it's performance and longevity!!! *** Local service, When I inquired about having my saw repaired at their local service center they informed me that it has been closed, yet I do see that they are still advertising this local service in their listing? When I inquired as to what repair parts that they are keeping in stock locally for this saw there was no reply to this question so I can only surmise that they are not keeping any parts in stock for repair of these saws? For the cylinder and piston that my saw requires they directed me to another vendor who was selling this part. WOW, did I see some possible issues. I saw many noteworthy scratches and gouges in the cylinder, in both the vertical and horizontal directions, which indicates to me that there could be some serious manufacturing quality issues? The vertical scratches (with the pistons travel) could come from some sharp unchampfered edges, not cleaning out all of the metal shavings from the manufacturing process, or poor/dirty assembly practices. More disturbing than this was the gouges in the cylinder walls that must have been made during the machining process, which could happen, but I would never assemble and motor with a new cylinder that had gouges in it??? The edges of the cylinder ports looked very sharp as though they had not been champfered, and some of the ports had chips missing along their edges. I would highly recommend that you inspect your cylinders before operating. U could get a good one? It could be interesting to see what might be found in crankcase area of the motors? I know that my motor has been test run before at the factory, but with the issues that I saw in my motor it would difficult for me to expect any kind of normal longevity from it, besides this, I feel that it is very unlikely that the motor that I received would produce its full rated output power. Please also note that these motors have been run before you receive them. You can tell this from the carbon residue in the exhaust port, so if there was in foreign debris left in them from the manufacturing process then it is likely that it has already been "worked into" the moving parts. At least some of the really "serious flaws" should have been caught from the test run? This chainsaw is supposed to be a copy of the old Husqvarna 372XP, but I would not expect that any of these machining and manufacturing issues were customary in the production of the Husqvarna 372XP. Some people reported that their saws ran fine, so maybe its just the luck of your draw? Good Luck!!! ... show more

  • Works well plenty of power
Style: NH872 Power Head
This chainsaw has plenty of power. The only setback is that I've had to adjust the carb several times. I finally got a dual Port. Muffler seems to help quite a bit. Then again it was only $280 versus husqvarnas $1,200 and for the amount of money that I have saved, I do not care to spend a little in parts ... show more

  • Great saw !
Style: NH872 with 28'' Bar/Chain
I waited a year to write a review, I have used this saw constantly and have had no issues at all. All I had to do was tune it a bit and gained a lot of power. 28in bar it rips runs reliable. It’s worth every penny.

  • I feel fortunate, mine works very well
Style: NH872 with 28'' Bar/Chain
I read a lot of the reviews of this saw before I pulled the trigger, and I was pretty concerned reading about some of the 'lemons' some folks got. When I first got it, I cranked it up and it started right up in a few pulls. Its my 4th chainsaw, so its pretty intuitive to crank. Like one review, it sat in the shed for several weeks and I had some trouble getting to start when I needed it...and that was 100% my fault, I had the switch only half way to 'on', hadn't clicked it all the way over. I bought it as a bargain saw to run my Alaskan chain saw mill (recommend minimum 70cc saw), and I have not put the ripping chain on it to try out that aspect of it. I have however plowed it thru green oak logs 14-16" in diameter and it handled them easily with the stock chain that came with it. I'm used to semi or full chisel chains, so I expect when I go to one of those it will be faster cutting thru, but it has performed admirably and reliably the 4-5 times I have used it to date. ... show more

  • A mighty beast
Style: NH872 with 28'' Bar/Chain
Easy to start, as easy to use as something this big can really be, simply chews through trees.
