  • Quality Control is lacking
im not impressed. right out the box, i got cut from the plastic case having a jagged edge. upon further inspection, there is alot of extra plastic from overpour on the edges of just about every piece of plastic. then looking at the black accent stripe, it wasnt straight, it was wavy like it was hand painted. the stripe had a familiar hue to it, like permanent marker...wait what?! someone drew in the stripe with permanent marker...........LOL! thats exactly what they did. fml! ok so not the end of the world so let me continue. went together pretty easy even though there weren't and instructions in the manual. hopefully i installed the screws the right way! so i fill it up with gas, screw on the cap - misaligned, try again and again then finally got it on straight. used the flat head tool to tighten and 1/ 4 turn later i hear crack! are you kidding me? the gas cap isnt injected molded, its almost like it was 3D printed. UGH! so now i have to fix the gas cap by heating the gas cap and melting 3D printer filament in the screw driver slot. fixed that and let get her started. started up in about 10-12 pulls, adjusted the carb and it ran like a champ. i was willing to overlook the cosmetic stuff so long as mechanically it ran good. on the 3rd attempt to start it up, i pulled and pulled and pulled and nothing, i took off the air filter cap, then the black piece covering the spark plug, OUCH! cut myself on the plastic again! checked the spark plug, wet. engine flooded. aired it out, tried o start again, nothing. took off the pull starter case, put a 1/2" socket on my drill then tried to start it mechanically. after adjusting the carb again and using the drill, i finally got it started. when i let it idle, it would shut off instantly. adjusted some more and more and more, then finally got it idling again. put the cover back on, tried to start it manually, got it goin after a few pulls then put it away. the next day the entire house strongly smelled like gas. opened the garage door, and i instantly knew where it was coming from.....my problem child neotec ns892. weird thing is, i thought it wouldve been from the gas cap but the gas was everywhere! it was on the throlle trigger, the both sides of the case, the handle, and all the little cervices around the saw. so i cleaned it up, checked to see where the gas was coming from..........dont know.......maybe the carb...who knows! i couldnt really tell because gas was everywhere! my next attempt to start it up was unsuccessful. i tried everything as the day before and also tried using starter fluid - nothing. then i noticed a major safety concern: the case doesnt go under the chain and you could literally see the chain moving and could put your fingers right in its path if you didnt know the chain is exposed on the bottom. unreal. this thing has done nothing but become a headache after the first use and im over messing around with this thing. i bought an ojenga 105cc (stihl 070 knockoff) and only had 1 problem (my fault) i pulled without decompressing and nearly pulled my arm out of socket, but the recoil snapped back to the saw so hard that it broke off half the pull starter and one of the metal slats thats over the pull starter and now the cord hangs out about 3 inches from not having it fully inside when i reattached the handle to the rope. but this thing freaking starts everytime with a half pull from cold. but this thing is like handling a lawn mower and it has no brake so its incredibly sketchy using this thing. compared to the ns892 its not for everyday use and only good for felling trees of cutting off trunk branches. the ns892 is much easier to use, more practical and light enough for trimming but has the power to fell. extremely disappointed that this machine was a lemon but wont stop me from trying another version of the stihl ms660. moving on to the holzforma to try my luck there. so if you want to give it a try, youll be impressed with this machine if you dont get a lemon. i wont be buying from neotec not because of the mechanical problems, but the lack of quality control. if this machine was inspected thoroughly, the little issues wouldnt exist and the major issues wouldve been caught. therefore im not rolling the dice with this company inspecting their product before its sold to the consumer. Let my rating reflect the product only. the seller has been extremely accommodating and has given me a refund without hesitation. as im seeking to buy another chainsaw, i will try to buy from this seller again, even if it costs me a couple more dollars to do so. ... show more

  • Expensive for an off brand!
Oil disbursement is jacked! Minimal bar size is not getting accurate oil and has bent three bars- can’t even make it through an 18’ pine—- softest wood ever!!! I can only image what would happen if we went up in bar size! Not to mention cost of upgrades. We get oil if no bar is attached— doesn’t disburse other than that. Unit came broke (workable but it was still broke!)- brake handle- kind of important!! Unit didn’t come with a contact so we can’t have any issues or shipping problems addressed… Just food for thought! ... show more

  • is it worth the purchase
for those that are on the fence or going to buy neotech saws, the tech support is good and will work with you. there are parts that need to be adressed and i would recomend oem parts before you even put your saw together 1. chain adjuster I had a damaged one from improper instalation at factory, and i was sent out a new kit witch was produced by hyway that one didnt completely work i had to swap some of the platic parts with original to make it work 1 complete stroke. on the second stroke with 36" bar and chain on it did a quick bound and strip the gears quick tightening the chain. i didnt bother contacting them again i went out to nearest stihl dealer paid $30 for oem parts 2. thorch spark plug id replace with ngk plug before the first pull. my torch plug kept fouling after 1/2 tank at 25to 1 ratio for breakin and had to keep cleaning it to drop one tree 3 id switch to a elasto pullstarter 4. decompression valve id go with oem i think mine is faulty it releases to quick and at first tdc it fires & pulls handle out of hand i used to own a stihl 440 and decomp never did that. once broken in and tuned and those 4 things addressed its a good saw for the price. id buy again if your a loger and want a 8hr work saw buy the stihl ... show more

  • It was really hard to start the first time.
It was really hard to start the first time but I haven’t tried to start it after I first got it. The weather is starting to get cooler here in West Tennessee so it won’t be long until I try it again. I really don’t think that the Chinese have it all figured out yet . The saw really needs a primer bulb on it to get the gas to the carburetor I know that would help a lot the rear handle big enough for an American man’s foot will fit into it. That rear handle must be made for a woman’s foot. My shoes are only size 91/2 and I can’t even get the toe of it in the handle of the saw. Update Now that I have started using the saw I find that the rewind starter needs a lot of attention most of the time the rope pulls out without turning the motor and it has a lot of plastic parts in the starter. Wish I could find parts made in the USA I would replace the starter . ... show more

  • You will have to make modifications
When you order this, just order a Husqvarna 503715301 to go with it. Don't think about it, just do it. With that valve replaced, your arm and hand will work, and the saw will start easily and flawlessly if you follow the proper procedure: 1. set choke to CHOKE 2. open decomp valve 3. crank until a single growl due to combustion 4. set choke to RUN 5. open decomp valve 6. crank Lots of power and not tremendously loud, but drinks like a sailor ... show more

  • Having some trouble so far.
Hello, I just received my neotec NS892. I really like to looks and feel of the saw and seems well built and I love the tool pouch/tools it came with but im having some difficultys. Out of the box I noticed it's missing the fuel&oil cap retainer clips (not a huge deal). The fuel cap leaks fuel. The tool pouch came with a extra fuel cap but that also leaks as well. I am unable to get the leaking to stop. I've been trying to start it with no success. The decompression vavle works a little to well. It will only stay (open) if you hold down on it while trying to pill start the saw which is very difficult to do. I also noticed it had a very small amount of fuel already in the fuel tank. I'm hoping this was from the manufacturer/testing process. I really hope this saw wasn't previously returned. I've contacted the seller and waiting/hoping to hear back soon. I will update later when If/when I hear back from the seller and all issues are resolved. ... show more
