Good torque wrench

All of the NEIKO tools I have ever purchased have been awesome. I was leery at first, because I like name brands that I recognize and have heard good things about. But the sockets and other tools I’ve purchased have been great quality, especially for the price. We’ll have to see how this holds up over the years, it does not get a ton of use, so mostly it’s sitting in its case in my tool box.

Actually much better than expected

I am providing a training program for technicians repairing large volumes of outdoor power equipment. This was the "prize" for the student with the high score on the weekly test. I have compared it to my own Photo 1/4" drive wrench and it compares pretty well. Accuracy has been spot on compared to the Proto Adjustment is a bit crude compared to the Proto, but has not been anything difficult It is a bit more difficult to read due to the depth of the marking and the sheen of the chrome. Takes a turn or two in some lighting conditions to see the markings well. But, it is holding up well with near daily use and for a beginning tech, it seems to be a good match. Pricewise, it was a fraction of the cost of the Proto and is providing good service. No doubt, you should buy the best quality tool you can afford if you are a pro or use it continually. This torque wrench may not be the best, but is certainly a good starter for a click type torque wrench.

Decent budget torque wrench

Easy to use and accurate for a hobbyist mechanic. More accurate than a calibrated elbow. Unless you are paying top dollar for quality tools and getting them calibrated all the time (as a professional should), than these are just peace of mind tool. Most people tighten till it either stops (subjective) or breaks (not good). So if you want a budget tool that gives you the peace of mind that you think it's more accurate than your elbow is than this is a decent tool for that job.

Good value for the money,

Inexpensive tools are just that they get the job done m but do not expect the level of quality that brands like Proto put into their products. The torque setting mechanism is a bit glitchy because of the locking knob at the bottom of the handle which if not snugged tight will affect the setting. I use this wrench to torque the oil filter cup of one my vehicles . Like many other things these days it is made from a thermoplastic material and needs to be handled with care. I have not used it for day to day torqueing therefore I cannot predict if the gears in the ratchet head will last, a long time from daily use ,I can say that they are not PROTO quality..by the sound they make and by the rotation selector lever. Depending on one`s own needs this wrench may be a good value for the money

Works great. Decent for the price.

Used this when I had to do knock sensors and intake. In my GMT800 03 suburban. Knock sensors are 15 ft lbs = 180in lbs and intake is 88in lbs. This worked great and is accurate.

Screw on wrench head fell out during first use!

The torque wrench was shipped in a nice case and appeared to be in perfect condition UNTIL I actually used it! Then one of the small screws on the head fell out! I screwed it back in, and did the same for the screw on the other side, which I discovered was also pretty loose. However, the screws didn't appear to have much "bite", so I'm not sure how long the wrench is going to last. I also have a Neiko torque screw driver which has worked well, so I'm guessing I may have just got a lemon?
