The reason why I didn’t like it it’s because the menus are very complicated to read on the LCD. The battery disappears on the LCD and it does not show record when you recording. Also, I was not able to update the system whatsoever no matter which way I tried by the way I am a technician. I know how to do an update. ... show more

Style: Camera Monitor with Touch Screen
Ordered this in the hopes of leveling up my photography skills a little bit and I'm so glad that I did - it's an excellent field monitor and it does everything you want it to do...and then some! Here are some things I love about it: 1. It is super easy to use. Even if you have not worked with one of these before, the controls are intuitive and it's so simple to hook up. 2. It's got a TON of features - way more than you expect for the price, for sure...making this an amazing value for $200 (as of the time of this writing). 3. It's touchscreen, which is SUPER handy - my last one of these was not and this is definitely a step above by having this feature alone. 4. It is very flexible - the arm tilts, so you can move it to where you want, when you want, with no fuss or hassle. 5. It is pretty compact and lightweight, so it works well for travel. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a case but that should be easy enough to find here on Amazon. I didn't feel this was worth taking a star off for, because the monitor itself is just SO good that it earns every one of it's 5 stars. 6. It comes with a sunshade which is handy in some lighting environments...I don't think you really need it most of the time, but it's nice to have in case you do. 7. It charges quickly and easily. Comes with a battery/charger as well, which is a nice "bonus" as my previous one of these did not come with either! You also have the option of using USB C to power it - it will work just fine while plugged in too. 8. The focus peaking is really, REALLY good - this is my favorite feature as it does this so much better than other field monitors I have used. 9. The colors are vibrant and rich, making it easy to see when you are getting THAT SHOT. It automatically calibrates, too. 10. You can do HDMI passthrough, which is great - it's VERY easy to share the live screen over to a bigger one like a TV or monitor...and it does it without lagging or delay. This is my other favorite feature as it makes it so easy to share images to make sure things are the way you want them, etc. Overall, if you are looking for a field monitor that is feature rich and works beautifully - and you don't want to spend a small fortune - then you absolutely cannot go wrong with this one. Overall it’s a great product. Feels nice and works as it should other than the 9 grid or “rule of thirds” grid. It perfectly mimics the screen of my FX30 but won’t transfer the internal grid from the camera. When using the grid on the monitor, it’s incorrect framing. The monitor only shows the grid as it pertains to the monitor screen. Since the monitor shows the screen of my FX30, it also shows the controls, exposure level and more which makes it a different aspect ratio than 16:9 / 9:16. To fix this, I have to magnify the image in the monitor, but then I cannot watch the settings while filming and have to zoom out every time I need to make a change. I really wish this would just transfer the internal, on camera grid. ... show more

I purchased this device to give me a "flippy" screen on the DSLR that I hope to use for the upcoming eclipse and it will certainly do that. I also chose it because it comes with the battery and charger. I gave it four stars primarily because I cannot get the firmware update to wark no matter which permutation I try. My model is running version 2.14 and the latest is 2.17. I have Neewer's updater installed on my Mac but it never identifies this monitor and does nothing. Copying the update to an SD card and following the methods in the manual doesn't work either. ... show more

the image is very clear. the experience is way better than the built in screen. I would just only mention one thing. It is LCD, not LED so the color is not as vivid as the built in LED screen. Everything works as expected. I love this bigger screen!
