I purchased this adapter to use my old EF 500mm f/4L IS USM on my R7 and R8 as a backup to my Canon EF to RF adapter that has become quite worn. I have been using this adapter regularly for the past two months and overall performance has been on par with the Canon version. Build quality seems nice and solid and the lens and camera mount snugly but not tight. The lens performs just as it does with the Canon adapter and I feel that I can use it with confidence. For example, autofocus is just as fast and accurate, IS functions properly and I don’t ever lose connection between the lens and camera like has happened with at least one of the other third party adapters that I tried. I have had a positive experience with this brand before so I chose the adapter when I finally went mirrorless to bring over all my old lenses from my SLR. These adapters done have glass in them so you don’t have to worry about that quality. The electronic pass through is fine and all of the autofocus and other functions still work great. Seems pretty durable. I am using it with several lenses across two different cameras (r6mii and r100) both work great. It works with both EF and EF-S lenses and even works for using advanced functions via canon’s apps like the macro focus stacking. (Tested with the Ef-s 60mm macro) ... show more

I got this to use a 24-70 f2.8 EF lens on a R8. When mounting to a tripod, that lens, which is probably double the weight of the camera, hangs out pretty far. I wasn't a fan of hanging it off the regular adapter and the camera like that. This adapter allows the weight to be supported closer to the lens, and the only weight on the camera mount is the camera itself. There is a tiny tiny bit of play between the adapter and lens, but everything works as it should. ... show more

I shoot sports everyday. The screws of the inside of the adapter began to unscrew after a few days of constant use. It definitely affects the connection to the camera and lens and u have to turn on and off ur camera because it's loose. Definitely effects performance but if ur not an everyday user just check if the screws are still secure. Sucks even more when u lose the screws. ... show more

Honestly it's just ok. It intermittently doesn't work with all my lenses. I had to upgrade to the canon version to have more reliability. It can work but if you have professional jobs to do I would skip.
