I purchased this adapter to use my old EF 500mm f/4L IS USM on my R7 and R8 as a backup to my Canon EF to RF adapter that has become quite worn. I have been using this adapter regularly for the past two months and overall performance has been on par with the Canon version. Build quality seems nice and solid and the lens and camera mount snugly but not tight. The lens performs just as it does with the Canon adapter and I feel that I can use it with confidence. For example, autofocus is just as fast and accurate, IS functions properly and I don’t ever lose connection between the lens and camera like has happened with at least one of the other third party adapters that I tried. I would not hesitate to recommend this adapter to a friend based on my experience with it.

I have had a positive experience with this brand before so I chose the adapter when I finally went mirrorless to bring over all my old lenses from my SLR. These adapters done have glass in them so you don’t have to worry about that quality. The electronic pass through is fine and all of the autofocus and other functions still work great. Seems pretty durable. I am using it with several lenses across two different cameras (r6mii and r100) both work great. It works with both EF and EF-S lenses and even works for using advanced functions via canon’s apps like the macro focus stacking. (Tested with the Ef-s 60mm macro)

I've had this for a year or so. It worked OK with my smaller lenses, but recently I put my big 400mm lens on it, and there was trouble. The lens adapter got very wiggly and the electrical connections became poor... leading to camera error messages and the inability to shoot photos. Now, even with the small lenses, it's not working well. So, I completely regret buying this instead of the more expensive Canon version. As soon as I stopped using this generic adapter and forked out the $$$ for a real Canon one, everything started working just fine again. My advice: don't be cheap, buy the Canon version.

I have a Canon R and R7, I wanted an adaptor for each. I have the Canon adapter and have been using to a few years with the R. I recently got the R7 and decided to try this adaptor. It works perfectly, as well as the Canon. I've used the Neewer adapter on both the R and R7 with Canon EF lenses, Sigma DC and FF lenses, and Tokina FX lenses. They all function perfectly.
