I'm a one-man hockey streaming operation (for my kid's hockey team). It consists of a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 camera, laptop with OBS, JLab USB microphone, and a USB3 video capture device. I had been using an inexpensive Sunpak tripod. While it was light and portable, it made panning and tilting an exercise in frustration--it was so light that the tripod would often lift off the ground when using the pan head, and the pan head was not smooth at all. I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade. This tripod seemed to tick all of the boxes in my search: heavier (more stable), fluid head, decent reviews, and decent price. I have used it twice now. It's very stable and allows me to fit it on bleachers without fear of it tipping over. The fluid head now allows me to follow the puck smoothly (other aspects of my camerawork needs improvement, but that isn't the tripod's fault). I take good care of my gear, but I feel that this tripod could take a lot of knocks without being damaged. My only real complaint is the quick-release plate. I wish you could thumb-tighten the screw into the camera instead of having to use an allen wrench (included) or car keys (my usual go-to since it's more convenient). The latch to release the plate is also a bit finicky. In reality, I would rate this tripod 4.5 stars, but since I can't, I'll give it 5 stars since it's such a great value.

Okay, I'm a little leery of some tripods because I've had several break. Usually it's a leg issue. First, let me say that I bought another product years ago from Neewer, and it is one of the best things I've ever gotten from Amazon, it was made well, and does exactly what I bought it for, so giving Neewer a chance with a tripod was not as big a gamble as you might think. Again, they impress me. This tripod is quality. I am impressed so far with everything about it, not to mention that it is (at its highest extension) taller than any other tripod I've owned. Be warned, it's not a tiny little, light as a feather tripod. It's very sturdy, large, and stable as it can possibly be. The fluid head works seamlessly and smoothly, and I LOVE the quick release on this head, it is the most secure but easiest one I've dealt with. Just my thoughts, it's VERY worth the price.

I'm a big fan of Neewer stuff. Great prices and overall above average quality. This tripod is extremely sturdy and solid. It has a wide base, feels solid and very well constructed, and I love it. The ONLY issue is that the clasps that lock into place so you can raise and lower each leg come loose pretty easily. The solution is simple though, there's a hex screw on the back. just tighten that and viola! It's fixed and tight and sturdy again.

I bought this mount for my Lunt 40 solar telescope and couldn’t be happier! Movement is smooth and tripod is stable. I was worried that the coil spring might be too strong, but actually balances the weight of the scope (~3 lbs) well if not at an extreme angle. Only complaint so far is that bubble level can’t be read where it is placed. Wish identical extra dovetail mounting screws were available, but had to settle for something close.

Strong and Stable Tripod with a fluid motion head. Once you learn how it all works it's extremely fast to deploy and easy to put away. Have been using this for Astrophotography and I can say it points so much more precisely and is so much steadier than my previous Tripod which I just thought was relatively good. Awesome Product at a reasonable price.
