    • Fun lamp for the holidays
The lamp is fairly small & mostly plastic, but it is still good quality and such a fun lamp to put out for the holidays. The lamp shade is very nice and again, nice quality. Better than expected!

I didn't buy this because I wanted it to look like the one from the movie. In fact, I've only briefly seen the movie but not in its entirety so I didn't really care about that. This lamp looks exactly like the picture. Pros: The fish net panty hose is real and you can move it around. It's attached to the top of the thigh and to the shoe so you can't remove it without intentionally ripping it off. You can turn on the main lamp by itself or the leg by itself or both of them at the same time. It required very little assembly. I only had to remove the plastic from the lamp shade, put in a bulb, attach the shade and plug it in. That's it! The bulb in the leg was already in there. Cons: I just wish the leg went up higher into the shade so you couldn't see the top of the leg but that's OK. The on/off knob is really hard to turn. Maybe it's just stiff cause it's new and maybe it will loosen up over time. We'll see. It doesn't seem like a cheaply made product. Seems high quality. I put a 75 watt bulb in it and I've left it on for almost 14 hours just to make sure that it doesn't catch on fire or something. I'm very happy with my purchase! ... show more

    • Great Gift for the Christmas Story Fan
Who cares if this product has a few less-than-perfect aspects. It IS well made, it works well, it has three different light settings (including leg-only), and it is an all around fun gift for the fan of The Christmas Story. The only problem I saw with it is that the leg bulb is difficult to change. But for the price it IS a decent quality item. I would much rather have given the full size version as a gift, but who wants to put out $150 to $200? This is the perfect size and price to get a good laugh AND actually get used on a desk. Who is actually going to put the full sized one in a permanent position in their house anyways (I know a few who would)? To make the gift even more authentic, I built a simple wood crate and spray painted FRAGILE on the outside. The box the lamp comes in gives it away too quickly and looks too gimmicky. Put about an hour of garage time into the gift and you'll have a wood crate, the leg lamp and the perfect holiday gift. ... show more

Before this came, I was watching the amazon truck deliver this online as it was 6 stops away and I lied, telling my daughter "I won a major award!". She knew I once won a compressor so she believed me and asked how I won it. I told her "Mind Power". There was soon a ring at the bell and I said, "There it is!" We went to the door and, unfortunately, the package wasn't in a crate that said "FRAGILE" or "Frageelay" on it... it was just in the Christmas story box, and it was smaller than the one in the movie, but we opened it, put a light bulb in it and discovered it had 3 modes. 1. Light Bulb Alone. Light in Leg and Light Bulb. Light in Leg alone. My wife came home and started laughing. It's the size of a bedsize lamp, with the charm of "A Christmas Story". Wonderful decor this time of the year and, maybe, all year around. Right now it's in our front room and it's not gawdy at all. The leg light makes a beautiful nightlight.     • I dont want to love it.
I bought this for our retro christmas this year and thought it would be tacky yet funny. The very first time I put it in its spot I love it. Its not as tacky as I was hoping it would be and seems to really blend in with a beautiful ambient lighting. I may put it away come spring for next year or it may have a new permanent home; I havent decided yet. ... show more
