  • Quality appears to be very good, time will confirm.
Style: 4 Piece Kitchen to go bundle A
Right out of the box, the product was packaged well and seems very well built. I like the aluminum top and legs, which won't conduct as much heat as an all steel product would, making it easier to move the stove while in use or put cooking utensils next to it. I also like the deep burn chamber made from stainless steel. I'm wondering if an Esbit fuel tab can be used while the stove is folded, so the flame will be closer to the top. Also want to try with a Trangia type stove to provide more options for fuel. So far, I am impressed and optimistic. ... show more

  • good idea,, but restricted
Style: Stove only
It turns out that a lot of places where I camp, it is not allowed to use stoves like this,, no wood burning stoves for wildfire prevention. Otherwise, I would probably use this more even though it is heavier than gas stove setup.

  • Great concept
Style: Stove only
If you’re good at starting a fire in a small tight chamber then this is a great product. I boiled water and cooked soup in Stanley cooking cup and worked great. Like every fire, you need to keep fueling it with twigs and such, especially since it’s a small chamber, but at least you do not need to pay for gas and worry about packing it. ... show more

  • Awesome for what it is.
Style: 5 Piece Kitchen to Go Bundle
I've used this a few times hiking. I've used it with sterno and butane and it worked much better than expected. I have to say I bought it because i thought the little table was cute. The coffee maker is top notch, makes coffee as good as my stove top moka pot (that's essentially what it is). The down sides is that it's heavy. I would not take this on extended backpacking trips, but for day hikes with a coffee break it's as good as most stoves I've used. It was pretty windy the days I used it and it did okay. It did seem to use fuel a lot faster than my jetboil stove, but that's a water heating only type device. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wasn't looking for the lightest cook solution. ... show more

  • Great stove for solo camping
Style: Stove only
The media could not be loaded. Light weight and durable. Found that it did not boil water or heat meals as quickly as I'd hoped, however for the simplicity of using small twigs and easy to find combustible wood sources, I can't complain. I did find it necessary to constantly watch the flame and feed the fuel into the chamber, as it burned through the wood sources quickly and died out fast. So, knowing that going into it you'll need to have a good stash of wood available to continuously add to the flame while using this stove, you should be happy with it. Also, I found it worked better to have a wind guard around the base to maintain heat and force the flames upward to heat my meals/water etc. ... show more

  • Great in concept, poor performance.
Style: Stove only
I bought this product and was really excited to take it out for a spin in shenendoah. Unfortunately I used it over the course of a three day hike and promptly sent it back. Do not buy this product, it will not work as advertised. Reasons: 1) The legs do not fold out seamlessly and sometimes get stuck on the burn chamber 2) It is difficult to start a fire in this and keep it going. Had to continually relight some newspaper to get the fire going to burn twigs. Remember the burn chamber is small and about the size of your fist so it's not as easy as it seems. 3) Once you get a fire going you have to constantly feed it with twigs and sticks. I gathered up bark, twigs, and had some hickory wood chips as fuel which I pre-gathered. The reason being is that it doesn't get hot enough. 4) Whih brings me to my next point, Tmthe twigs/embers do not get hot enough to heat up a pan. This may seem strange but I lit a fire and put an 8 inch cast iron skillet on it which should get plenty hot but once you put a pan over the fire it extinquishes it and the fire will smoke a ton due to lack of oxygen. You can't under pack it with twigs cause it won't get hot enough and you can't over pack it either. 5) Clean up was kind of cumbersome and had to put the device in boiling/soapy water to get off the crusty oil. This device might work better with alcohol fuel instead of twigs but I think the main selling point of this device is that you can use dry twigs that you gathered. With a little bit of re-engineering this device might be a great alternative to MSR or isobutane burners, but there are no good alternatives. I could barely cook eggs on a skillet with the ncamp stove. If there was a perforated metal crown around the top of the stove on which to rest the pan/ventilate/distribute the flame, the device might work better. Also an Jet boil type of base may create an air vortex which gets the flame hotter but as it, it does not work at all. ... show more
