Works just like I remember guitar hero growing up. I hammer down on the strum bar and its holds up well. Almost no latency issues either.

I hooked this up to a Batocera linux device. It worked great on Guitar Hero using PCSX2. It did not work with Dolphin. Unfortunately the guitar controller comes up as a keyboard. That meant I had to go in and configure a bunch of stuff. Most annoyingly, one of the buttons on the guitar is an ESC button. That meant that the game kept pausing because ESC has an internal function in the emulators. I did go in and change those configurations, but it was a genuine pain. Ended up returning this guitar controller and getting an xbox guitar, the xbox guitar was plug and play. If you are considering this controller for emulation, I would recommend another one because configuration is a pain. Xbox guitar is the way to go.

We bought this for our son who plays Clone Hero and Guitar Hero. Here's our assessment of the product 1. Build Quality: overall the build quality is decent. It doesn't feel cheap and isn't really flimsy, but it doesn't feel well constructed either. The buttons are responsive. The whammy bar on our son's went out quickly, so that's something of which to be aware. 2. Features: the number of buttons allows for the full range of notes. The Start and Select buttons are not in the way of the play surface. 3. Ease of Use: This is plug and play. Pairing the included dongle is quick and you're playing in no time. However, this device register as a keyboard if you're playing on PC. This means that tilt control doesn't work, which is problematic. 4. Value: For the price what you get isn't bad, so you get what you pay for. If you or your kid(s) play Fortnite Musical Festival, Rock Band, or Guitar Hero/Clone Hero with any regularity, this controller might let you down.

If you’re looking for a NEW guitar with the GUITAR HERO-STYLE STRUM BAR for PC, I highly recommend this product. All buttons are incredibly responsive and seems pretty solid. Just like the originals! Just takes 4 batteries instead of 2. Seems like I’ve been transported back into the late 00s, playing Clone Hero. ROCK ON YALL.
