While researching pea coats, this one by Nautica came up with good reviews on several sites so I decided to take a chance at the $80 price range plus the fact that it was a slim fit coat. The coat is very nice. It is a slim fit and I love how it fits me. I did have to size DOWN. I am 6' and 175 lbs and normally take a large in all of my coats but took a MEDIUM in this coat. Some reviewers noted that the jacket was "itchy" and not warm but I did not experience any itchiness and the jacket, while not a winter parka, was warmer than expected. I receive many compliments on it when I am wearing it. Minor issues is the weird strip of fabric behind the collar that other reviewers mentioned and I noticed that the material may pick up lint more than normal but nothing that a good lint roller can handle. ... show more

As the weather has recently turned cold and snowy, I have been able to put this coat to the test. I have been very impressed with how warm it keeps me in 25 degree weather with significant wind. I wear a sweater underneath and I am plenty warm. It effectively insulated, blocks the wind, and handles being wet from snow quite well. I also get frequent compliments on how it looks. The overall quality seemed very good. The stitching was good, and the material felt appropriately thick. I am usually a medium in all clothing, and I prefer fitted shirts. This jacket was far too big, even if allowing extra space for layers in cold weather. The shoulder lines were around 1-2" wider than I expected. I exchanged the item for a small. This Nautica peacoat is cut in a more modern style similar to a blazer but the sizing runs pretty large even with size small. I bought the camel color and the color is darker than in the product photos which could either be a pro or con depending on personal opinion. The color was a richer brown which I liked and looked pretty classy overall. The dealbreaker for me was that the wool texture was quite rough and scratchy. It rubbed against the back of my neck when when wearing the coat and felt very uncomfortable. A disappointing product considering that Nautica is a brand name. However, this could be good value if you plan to wear it with something covering your neck under it if you can get it on sale around $80 as it's pretty cheap for a coat. ... show more

This jacket look even better in real life than in the stock picture. It's definitely a jacket dress to impress. The color is rich and deep, the texture look really smooth and polish and the material look really upscale. I carefully inspected the stitching, buttons and pockets lining and every little detail is perfect. My skin has always been sensitive to wool and it was my neck area itches a little the first day or two but now I get used to it. It's a heavy jacket so it's really warm and I like that I can cover my neck area unlike other men's over coat that I have. It's a heavy jacket so it keeps me warm even when temperature was 31 degrees the other day and windy. But it's not overly heavy like my other full length overcoats. And because it is not a full length coat it makes it much easier to get in and out of cars. This high quality coat definitely does the Nautica name justice and I am really glad I paid a little more for this coat than other brand that I was considering. It's definitely worth the money and I trust that it will serve me well for many years to come. ... show more
