With everything being overpriced compared to the quality you typically receive, that is not the case with this awning. It’s very well made. The awning cover, however, due to shipping arrive damaged, and not really the seller’s fault. The manufacturing company should be packaging these units in such a way that it prevents this. Carriers today move so many packages, they just do not care what’s in it and it just gets thrown around. The other thing I would like to mention, the mounting brackets are OK, and could definitely be improved. The issue is although they’re designed to be adjustable, depending on how far aware from your rack you need to place it will determine how much sag that awning will have during its free stand. Personally I need the awning to be about 3 inches away from my rack and the brackets are slightly flimsy with the awning closed up. With it open, the sag is extreme and requires the poles. My fix for this will the to bolt on a piece of 3/8” piece of steel to aid in some rigidity. Other than the bracket and shipping issue, this awning is fantastic. The lights are amazing and are really going to make a difference when in-use. I also picked up the additional walls to make it a complete room and I couldn’t be any more happy with the entire setup. Everything you receive is quality built. The material is thick, the zippers are solid, etc. The designers did a fantastic job with this unit. You really get what you pay for here. I’m one who’s always complaining about shrinkflation (less quality/quantity for more cash), and this unit gave me hope that not everyone is trying to dig into your pockets for next to no return. If you’re in the market, this is a fantastic setup. Well worth it.

I am very happy with the awning so far! Sets up quickly and rolls up easier than i thought. I love the lights! there was some small spots of damage on the case and some minor fraying of the stitching that i will have to patch with a little rubber paint not a huge deal but kinda sucks that its not perfect for buying new.. maybe use more than one single piece of thin bubble wrap.. wrap the edges more or something in the future. the brackets are very strong but i wish they were L shaped and not T shaped to get a little more height.

2 1/2 star review. This is an OK awning. Pro’s it has a lot of coverage (don’t know the actual square footage, but it’s large), it is very easy to deploy, it has black out fabric excellent shade, it has built in LED lighting pre wired, has all the tie down cords and stakes needed to secure in inclement weather. So far this all sounds amazing. The Cons, the awning fell apart on the first trip, not the end of the world. The cover captured all the nuts and bolts. A bit of looking in the dirt and 30 minutes later the awning was back in working condition. Lesson, take it apart before first use and use Loctite to reassemble. Next con, stakes are junk unless used in soft dirt or sand. Bring steel stakes from Amazon or Walmart. (It’s large you will need them if there is wind) The cordage for tie down is great if you are completely level. You will need extra cordage if the ground is uneven, ie you parked on a slope and used blocks to level your rig. So far all this is manageable and would warrant a better review. The real cons are the weight. With the large size this awning is heavy! You will need to plan ahead for weight distribution. First trip mounted next to roof top tent my truck felt like a boat rocking side to side going down the road. (Truck is Ram 2500 so I don’t feel like I’m over any kind of legal weight limit and suspension is in stock form and essentially new). Lastly, the method of stowing away the awning leaves a lot to be desired. Due to its size and weight the forward portion sags heavily regardless of how I pack or attempt to secure it. Eventually it sags enough and rubs on the paint, wearing the paint right off. Nothing I have found helps with the sagging. I’m trying to figure out a bracket that will allow the forward portion to hang below it keeping it trim with the rest of the mounting system. Also the switches for the LED lights only worked for the first trip. Last con is the mounting brackets have only 2 possible mounting heights( it’s possible only one height I haven’t measured the bracket). You can flip the bracket 180 degrees to get presumably two different mounting heights. There are choices for mounting brackets with more options. This seller accepts returns. I could have returned my item if I had wanted to. I had three trips on it before the deadline. I decided to keep it because of the huge coverage. I will find ways to deal with the short comings, and hopefully end up with a giant somewhat cost effective awning. I hope this helps with your decision.

I'm sure it's a great awning but I for one will never be able to use it because it comes with no mounting instructions there are no practical videos online for mounting instructions and any videos I did find didn't have any of the matching mounting hardware that they sent to me which made absolutely no sense at all. It looks wonderful but you'll have to fabricate your own mounting system... edit... I was able to eventually get it mounted properly and I will let you know right now that you're going to have to figure out how to assemble the brackets on your own. I pieced together segments from videos I found online to get an understanding of how it should go and after a little trial and error figured it out. I was sent a passenger side unit instead of the driver side unit but it's on it's mounted it works well. It is a great product like I stated earlier but you will struggle a little bit figuring out how to mount it. Some updated mounting instructions from the company would do a world of good
