I treated myself to the big brush and the little one for my 3 year old girl. The craftsman ship is beautiful. Feels good on my scalp. My daughter is tender headed and tolerates this brush. Of course i have to go slowly from the bottom and carefully work my way up. She doesn't mind the contact of this brush on her scalp which is great! She loves the brush and it fits her hand. Finally boar bristle brushes built for thick hair! I was looking for a small brunch to put in my purse and so glad I have one for home and one for the road. These brushes help spread your bodies natural oils on your scalp from the roots to the tips which keeps my scalp and hair healthy.

This is not boar bristle, it is 100% nylon. Both brushes came thrown in a box with no protection and both brush bristles were smashed as a result, rendering them useless. I will invest elsewhere.

This is a great set Its very easy on my tangles The bristles are soft yet firm Ive had plastic handled brushes break in my hand from trying to pull out a tangle....no problem with this wood handle. Great!

    • A big brush and a little brush with boar bristles
I have a waist-length thick hair and I LOVE boar bristle brushes for helping to distribute oils down to my ends. This set comes with a standard-size brush and a little purse-sized brush, both cushioned, with nylon bristles that do most of the work each surrounded by a tuft of firm boar bristles. I don't like these for detangling or using in wet hair, but after I've combed my hair out with a wide-tooth comb they're great to brush through my already-tangle-free hair as a finishing step. The handles are a nice, smooth bamboo and it comes with a cleaning rake and 4 spiral hair ties! ... show more

I have never used this type of brush before. I was given the opportunity to try it out and review it so I grabbed it and I am so pleased that I did! You get a full and travel size brush along with a tool to remove the hair and some hair ties. These brushes are made of wood and so comfy to the hand. Let’s talk about what matter the most though, the brushing ability. Due to the fact that this has both the boar bristles and regular bristles, I find that it detangles the hair very well. I have used it on my almost 2 year old hair, as well as my hair and had great results on both. My two-year-old is no longer screaming when I brush her hair with this so I can only assume that it’s more gentle than the wet brush I was using. Not only that, but we always have a constant amount of flyaways while we’re trying to brush and pull our hair back and it never looks that smooth with these brushes because of the fine spacing between the boar bristle it pulls your hair back so smoothly. No lumps or bumps, which is amazing . I simply spray the hair before brushing it out with a little mist, and then pull it back and we’ve never had better results. Game changer! ... show more

I like this hair brush for the most part. I won't use it on wet hair, as I feel it would pull my hair out. I appreciate that it came with a travel size to keep in the car, as well as a cleaning tool and a few plastic scrunchies! My only gripe about this brush is that the boar bristles shed, a lot. They aren't super secure and the plastic bristles are easy to bend. I have very thick, coily, curly hair and find that this brush can't make it through the entirety of my hair's thickness like other brushes and ends up leaving behind a few of the boar bristles. But it's great for smoothing out a style. I'd say give it a try. ... show more
