If I didn’t already own a yarn swift it would have been very difficult to use. To make it work untwist and carefully open until you have a large loop, slip over a retracted swift and then, while holding in place, open the swift like you would an umbrella. You will then notice the loop is actually made of 5 smaller groups. Untie the slip knot for the top or bottom group and wind onto your bobbin. In the picture you will see 3 groups, I had already wound 2 of the 5. The colors are vibrant and have a beautiful sheen. I have wound 3 hanks with no trouble, no breakage or weak spots. This was horrible. So much static cling that I could not take it apart. Took me hours. Never again. The material would get tangled so easily. Once it got tangled I could not get it undone. Wasted hours of my time. I’ve had to cut and throw out so much material. What a nightmare.

I have about 60 colors now, and I love this thread. It’s not for the impatient or inexperienced though. You will need to separate it and get it ready for use yourself, and based on the other reviews, some people struggle with this.

This floss is really pretty. You have to find the little bundles in each color and then unwind that single bundle or else you will get tangles. Once you learn to do that, is easy to keep it from tangling.

OMG these are super soft silky and shiny. I LOVE the gradient pack. i even bought the green color on my own. highly recommended. to specify these ARE NOT for any strong stich but I LOVE the look of a satin stich with them.
