    • Does NOT work on fungus gnats.
I specifically bought this because of a fungus gnat infestation. I followed the product instructions, but this only works on the gnats if you shoot them out of the air with the spray. It does kill them on contact.

    • Takes a lot of sprays to work
So I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars do to how much effort it takes to kill the bugs. I had some very large gnats/fly like bugs in my plants. I had to spray the plant everyday for about 5 days and even then there were still a couple of stragglers. I think maybe it would work fine on those smaller house gnats, but I am unsure since I have not encountered these yet. With that being said I do like this spray is supposed to be a safer option to use in home than other brands/products. If you are looking for a safer alternative, this MAY help you but be mindful of the bugs you may be encountering before purchase. ... show more

    • Effective, minimal odor, drippy
The label does not mention if this is safe to use indoors around pets, but it says that it can be used on plants with edible fruit harvested the same day...so I'm thinking it's pretty safe. There is a caution about not disposing of the contents in water--so don't drink it! The spray does a good job of coating plant leaves, but the liquid does run and drip easily. So use paper towels or newspaper beneath the plant and behind it as you spray. (I used a shaped strip of aluminum foil behind a palm to catch the spray to drip down into the soil.) I got it on my hands as I was turning my houseplant that's infested with mealy bugs, and I washed my hands right away with no after effects. There is a slight odor--sort of an oil/musky scent--but it doesn't pervade the area or linger long. I noticed that the mealy bugs' cottony covering dried up after the first spray, but the little nymphs need an additional spray later on to keep them from repopulating. It's also tricky to get the buggers in the soil. I also used this spray on a plant with mites, and it cured the plant almost instantly. I'm looking forward to trying this on white flies this spring on my Virginia Creeper. So far, good results! ... show more

This spray is designed for houseplants, but I am actually using it this Spring on our outdoor holly bushes that have been overrun with red spider mites. They leave ugly webs and eat the leaves. This spray really takes care of them, even in that outdoor setting. After I sprayed, I did not find new webs. I re-treated, and so far, they still look good. I'm sure it would be very effective for houseplants, and much more efficient cost-wise. If I have some sort of insect problem on my houseplants, I will definitely use it. ... show more

I grow a lot of my own food, and trying to do it without any pesticides is a huge challenge in Texas. This product is rated for organic gardens and is an insecticidal soap. The label says it is safe for edible fruits harvested the same day. The fruits haven't ripened yet, but so far this is keeping off the spider mites and slugs I have always had problems with. I am using it before the bugs appear, as soon as I see the sprouts, and reapplying after new growth or rain. So far, the bugs are not bothering my plants and I expect a much better harvest this year. It will be a bonus if the squirrels don't like the smell! ... show more

Looks like it's sourced from natural materials, OK to use outside, and controls powdery mildew,, too. Looks good, so we'll give it a try (when the weather improves). Will report back if any problems crop up.
