These sconces look amazing next to our nightstands! The black and brass combo is beautiful and adds a touch of elegance to the room. They feel very durable and well made. The light can swivel side to side and also twist around, which makes them super functional for reading or just adjusting the light direction. These are very beautiful and good manufacturing quality. The metal tube that houses the cord is a genius idea, looks like an intended part of the design instead of an unsightly cord. The sconce is a little smaller than I expected (yes, there are dimensions available, but still). Also the materials are a bit on the lighter side - I suspect that someone who likes to turn the lamp from side to side frequently or with force may be able to bend or loosen up the screws fairly easily. We have not had any reason to constantly adjust, so it works fine. Very easy to mount. Make sure that the side holding screws/holes are leveled, they are not necessarily perfectly aligned to the wall plate level markings. The cord tube "stem" can point outward from the wall or at a slightly wrong angle, we solved this with Command Outdoor Rope Light Clips at the bottom of the stem that fixed it to the wall in the right position; other types of wire clips will likely work well also. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this black wall sconce along with another one in the gold color. This sconce was more sturdy as compared to the gold one. It also had the ability to move back and forth 180°. The gold one only had 90 degree mobility. I added a dimmer switch which allowed me to dim the light and conveniently have the dimmer switch right where I wanted it. The cord on the sconce has an on-off button and if you don't add a dimmer you must use the switch where it is on the cord line. The dimmer only required that you plug the wall sconce cord into it. Please see photo. I found it Easy to install in the light is definitely adequate reading for reading in bed. It does not come with bulbs so I purchased the bulbs that were recommended by another reviewer 60 W daylight 5000K, type G. These were very bright and I was happy to have the dimmer. ... show more

( I wanted to have a drum style over traditional) in original form these are beautiful as well Like the plug in feature AND the cord cover that goes beyond the wall base.
